disappointing - bedroom was cold not ideal when you have a 3 year old - loo/shower black mould in grouting - no kettle - so if wanted coffee or tea had to go out to buy it thought it may have been included as hotel itself was not cheap location is perfect for the centre of brugee - owner was not to be found once we had check in. it does not look like the picture

Absolutely disgraceful, Dirty, no service, no connection, Visa not accepted.... Opens at 14:00, no reception, only a school desk in the corridor!! Tried to pay with my card, aborted 3 times, connectivity error.... So I book another hotel, 10 minutes later the so called manager calls from Holland stating that they've taken the Money from my account without my authorisation due to no show.. Stay clear of this Hotel folks, enjoy Bruges but stay clear of Hotel Cavalier

Pros: the beds are clean and the location is excellent. Cons: We were told we had to pay the tax in cash and it couldn't be paid with a credit card. When we asked around, we were told that is very suspicious and not correct. Since we weren't offered a receipt, I believe we were charged twice for the tax. Regardless, we should not have been told to give him cash only for the tax. Also, there is no breakfast anymore, despite what the website says. They need to update their website.

Horrible, don’t stay here. 1st we arrived and the door to the hotel is locked, they knew we were coming we might have been 15mins late. No note, nothing. We happened to go to hotel across the street were a man said oh yes I have the key. They made us go take out cash for some additional tax charge. . The room was dirty, the rug awful. When I went to take toilet paper the entire holder fell from the wall to the floor. We were two couples and the made us pay with only one credit card for both rooms. Charged us $200 for a room for 3. Rediculous outside the door the maximum charge for 3 is $125.00 no one to discuss with. No one ever there. They give you key to the front door and you drop it off in a box when you leave. Worse hotel I have ever been in. Very dirty rug, bathroom had mold.

Worst hotel i have ever experience. At the arrival we have to pay our stay in cash. Which we dont have cash nowadays so the staff pointed on us the nearest ATM machine to get the cash. But before went to the ATM i ask if i can use their toilet and they have no toilet for the guest. During the payment we were asking for the recipient but there are no invoice for that . They just write it down in a flyer with no VAT or anything in there. The room was too hot and too dirty. The sink doesnt work properly because it was too fat and dirty which seems never been washed or clean at all. During our stay it was really hot the temperature reach untill 30 degrees celcius so it he room was really hot feels like in the sauna. For 150€ per night without breakfast we can find easily anywhere and room with at least with airco. I will never call this hotel is an hotel. But even worst than Hostel.

Do not book in this hotel. The walls are so thin you can hear everyone talking, walking around, listening to music etc. Its impossible to sleep in the room because of this issue. Completely waste of money. The manager refused to talk to me over the phone, refused to offer an alternative option or a refund. Customer service? Absolutely zero. Also do not be fooled by the pictures! Definitely dont look the same in live. The location is good but there are so many other hotels around please do yourself a favour and find somewhere else to stay.

Hard to know where to start! This was the worst experience we have ever had with a hotel. I should have known better when they couldn't even be bothered to answer the email I sent them two weeks before we arrived! The photos looked nice and the price was good however, and so we decided to go for it. On arrival at the hotel the door was locked even though it was only late afternoon. It took 5 minutes until someone let us in and they just looked confused as to why were there! The place was in semi-darkness, and the reception desk had nothing on it or around it to indicate that it was used. They had no idea about our booking. They wanted us to pay in cash (never experienced that before in a hotel) and when I told them we had no cash on us and I wanted to pay by card they disappeared into the back with no explanation, took 5 minutes, came back and said had to go next door to get paper for the machine. We then paid and imagined we would get a key and told where our room was, but no such luck. By this time we had been there 25 minutes. The 'receptionist' then asked separately for the city tax in cash. We had already told them that we had no cash. They then proceeded to call someone (the owner?) on the phone - they went into the adjoining dining room - that also looked semi-deserted, with boxes piled up. They left us standing in the hallway with no idea of what was going on the entire time. By this time we had been waiting to get to our room for nearly 40 minutes after travelling all the way from the U.K. by car. When I made payment, I asked about breakfast and was told that breakfast was not included although on the website it says that it is. The hotel looked and felt abandoned. After 45 minutes of waiting in a darkened hallway with no indication of what was going on, we finally lost our patience and told the 'receptionist' that we were leaving. He looked alarmed and said something about the payment being in GBP which could be a problem, which made no sense as when I had paid, it had gone through and I can see on my account that the hotel have taken the payment (for nothing). We finally gave up waiting and went to another hotel which cost us double what we were expecting to pay (plus the payment to Cavalier Hotel that we had already paid). I emailed the hotel to complain politely and ask for a refund, and surprise, surprise, I have had no response, and no apology after 3 days. The whole experience was very upsetting - we received no explanation, no apology, and no offer of refund. There are lots of other hotels in Bruges so give this one a miss!

Er werd gevraagd wanneer we kwamen inchecken en heb 13.00 uur aangevinkt maar kreeg een mail terug van incheck geweigerd. Toen we uiteindelijk rond 14.00 uur kwamen was er niemand bij de receptie. In 5 dagen hebben we géén schone handdoeken gekregen en moesten we het met 2 halfvolle rolletjes toiletpapier doen. Hotel met vergane glorie en in de zomermaanden veel te warm.
