My husband and I stayed in Hotel Ter Brughe for three nights. What a beautiful old building full of history. Our room was very comfortable and clean. We had a canal view and what a beautiful view it was. The staff were all so friendly and helpful. I cannot say one negative thing about this wonderful hotel. The location was excellent too, within walking distance the main square, restaurant's and shops. I cannot recommend Hotel Ter Brughe enough.

Me & my husband stayed at this lovely hotel as part of a coach holiday. It's a really nice, clean, friendly family run hotel on the outskirts of Bruges centre. Our room was on the second floor which we requested it was a nice, big room with a huge window protected by mosquito mesh which was great! There was a fridge & a safe in the om which was really handy. The bed was really comfy & bedding spotless. The bathroom was nice & clean with a walk in shower. Breakfast was good, continental with addition of sausage bacon & eggs. All freshly cooked in the morning, nice pastries. The bar area was great they serve beverages as well as alcohol. There is a great seating area outside & the gardens are lovely! The staff were so friendly & helpful, take advantage of the taxi service for 10 euros into town, it's a bit of a long walk into the centre. Around 15 minutes to the T Zand Square & then around 20 minutes to lake of love. It's a flat walk but can get tiring! Would highly recommend this hotel & we are gong back there on another trip n November. There is parking on the nearby street if you bring your car. A huge thank you to the owners & staff who made it a great stay for us.

This hotel is absolutely amazing. The price for 1 night is affordable. My partner booked last minute and we didn’t expect what we see online is what we get in person. The room is lovely and warm, bed is so comfortable, pillows are the softest ever we had amongst the hotel we have been for holidays. The room space are enough for couples and couldn’t ask for more. The ambiance upon the reception up to the lounge are absolutely amazing and beautiful. The lovely receptionist was so friendly as well. We highly recommend this hotel to everybody who are looking for affordable and budget friendly accommodation.

Outstanding hotel! Go and stay. We stopped here for a couple of nights whilst visiting Bruges for our 1st anniversary. From arrival, the hotel and owners were just incredible. We checked in to some lovely complimentary chocolates and cocktails to welcome us. The facilities were lovely, elegantly designed rooms and just the most amazing additions to the room. The bed was so comfy. The little touches made the visit special, with some surprises left for us each day. We left feeling we were so incredibly well looked after. Thank you to the family making our visit so special. You are amazing!

It's hard to decide what the best feature of this hotel was. The location is excellent because it is on the edge of the commercial district, and not directly in it, as some of the other hotels we considered staying in were. This meant it was quiet and peaceful but still only a few minutes walk to the center of town. The hotel itself feels more like a private home than a hotel which made it feel really personal. The staff was excellent and could not have been more helpful and friendly. The room was mostly comfortable with a very comfortable bed, nice bathroom, good towels, etc. Our only complaint was that the air conditioning in our room (number 26) was under powered and the only unit in the room was on the opposite side of the room than the bed. Even with the thermostat set to the lowest temperature, the room was too warm overnight. If not for this, I would give the hotel 5 stars. Overall though, this is a great hotel and very worth staying at.

Friendly staff, lovely hotel, buffet breakfast was good value and convenient. Location was spot on and the family room was cosy, clean and had loads of space. Nuts from mini bar were cheaper than in the supermarket which we couldn’t believe. Only downside was the shower head wouldn’t stay in the holder so we had to hold it to shower which was a shame. Overall we would return if we came back to Bruges.

Stayed for four nights and had a great time! The hotel is in the old town and has a great location. It takes a few minutes to get to the main street. Turn left at the main street entrance and there is a supermarket. It takes about ten minutes to walk to the Grand Place clock tower. The back garden is small and elegant. I sat down and ordered afternoon tea twice. The hotel waiters I met were of high quality and very enthusiastic, which is a plus for the hotel. I called a taxi three times at the front desk, and they all charged the meter price. There was a little problem with the sink in the bathroom on the first day of stay. It was very warm to put a card and a box of chocolates. The medieval city of Bruges and this castle hotel will be eternal and beautiful memories!

GGuest UserObviously, the owner of the property, Jason, has put a lot of thoughts into furnishing it and has taken great pride and care in its upkeeping. The property is located on the quieter side of the old town but is anyway just about a 5 minute walk to Markt. The room is well appointed, spacious and clean. The breakfast prepared personally by Jason is sumptuous and tasty. A fantastic stay!

GGuest UserLovely hotel tucked away amongst the cobbled streets of Bruges. Horse carriages canter by every few minutes. About 15 mins from the main square but plenty to explore around the hotel. Many choices of food and beer..the local brewery is 5 minutes away. Hotel is comfortable, clean with the normal amenities like coffee, hair dryer etc. We had a large room for 3 pax. Service was good. Breakfast was well stocked.. better value than eating out. If you are an early riser explore the surrounding area without the tourists..well done to management

We had a 4 night stay in a standard room. The room was extremely compact with a small space on 3 sides of the bed, just enough to walk through - although sloping ceilings encroached into this space so you had to lower your head. Wardrobe space was limited, with a 1 metre hanging rail and 3 shelves, space was taken up by the safe and the chiller. There was a small dressing table but we needed the space for our own toiletries, cosmetics and personal items. The décor was recent and pleasant if you like dark colours. The shower room was typically sized and equipped, although room service did not replace used toiletries without specific requests. Breakfast was quite good, we had a glass of champagne included and usually selected eggs with bacon and smoked salmon, accompanied by cold meats, cheeses and pastries. Cakes were available but not to our liking. Only 1 or 2 rooms were occupied in addition to our own during our stay and guests were only staying for 1 or 2 nights. The narrow stairs from the rooms to reception are hazardous because they go around a bend so they are very narrow on the inside and there is a large ornamental pot on the wide side. My wife lost her footing one morning and sustained a bruised ankle. Located next to Minnewater and the Kasteel, it is ideally placed for a quiet break in a picturesque location, although it is a 10 minute walk to the centre. At this time of year (early February) the outside covered bar is freezing despite the sheep skin blankets available. Only the 2 chairs next to the fireplace are 'warm'. Overall a nice place for an overnight stay but not good value for the price. This is almost the most expensive hotel in Bruges costing us €956 for 4 nights (without city tax), plus an additional €80 for parking. We find the Dukes' Palace, or The Grand Hotel Casselbergh, offer much more character, spacious rooms and large choices for breakfast.

GGuest UserJust back from a weekend in Bruges and I can't recommend the Hotel Bryghia highly enough. It's in a great location - just far enough out of the centre to be blissfully quiet and but less than 10 mins walk from the Market Square and Belfry. Right next to a beautiful canal and bridge. It was the perfect balance of an old building but with modern facilities. The bed was so comfortable, we had the best night's sleep. We were welcomed by the very warm, friendly owner, and by some Belgian chocolates in our room! The map and local knowledge he shared were priceless. We are already planning to visit again in the Summer and will definitely book the Bryghia.

GGuest UserThis is a hotel we were very satisfied with when we stayed in Bruges. The breakfast was rich. The children are allergic to milk. There is soy milk to choose from👍🏻There is also a small water bar at the reception with a small amount of candies and cookies. After returning from the street You can drink water immediately to replenish water when you need it👍🏻It is really a good choice for families with children and adults traveling.

GGuest UserThe hotel is in the perfect location to visit and experience all that Bruges has to offer, it is literally 2 mins from the Belfry and the main square. We drove to Bruges and used their secure underground garage for the duration of our stay. The rooms are basic but very comfortable, the bed in particular was very comfy! We had a very small balcony overlooking the road, which was lovely to get the atmosphere. We would have liked tea/coffee making facilities in the room and there was no iron / ironing board (although they were available from reception is needed). The bathroom was spacious and clean, with plenty of hot water for the shower. Although the hotel has a terrace, you can’t use it past 10pm due to noise restrictions, so we moved inside and were served by the stand out star of the hotel for us… Vlaktko the excellent bar man. He makes the best Moscow Mules! He was friendly and attentive and went over and above to help us. We found the check in / check out service to be a little slow. Overall, I would recommend this hotel without hesitation, it is just perfectly located and if you stay then say Hi to Vlatko!

RRashidThe only thing good about the hotel was the location. Every thing else was bad. This is NOT a hotel you should book if you are driving and will like to park your car. The hotel will tell you that there is a huge public parking right across but will not tell you that to get to the parking lot will take 15 minutes of driving though walking back is 5 minutes. Also there are no clear directions and the whole old town is mostly one way. Hotel is old and not well maintained. Color scheme is very dark and lights very gloomy. Paint on walls and even doors are in bad shape. Washroom need lot of upgrades. I would never again stay in this hotel in fact will stay away from NH hotel chain.

GGuest UserOne of the worst lodging experiences out of the hundreds of trips I’ve taken. The story begins with me mistakenly booking for august 11-13, 2023 instead of the intended dates of august 12-14, 2023. So, I made an additional reservation for august 13-14, 2023, to stay as planned. Both reservations were fully prepaid on agoda.com (€199 for the first 2 days and €108 for the third day). Upon checking in on august 12, 2023, I was informed that the 'paid-for' room was already occupied by someone else, and I was not allowed to use it. Their reason was that I didn't check in on august 11, 2023. The hotel voluntarily cancelled my reservation and ”gave the room away” to someone else on august 12-13, 2023, WITHOUT ANY CONSENT from me or ANY PRIOR NOTICE. It's a ridiculous joke. I am renting a room, not participating in horse racing or any kind of ******** like that. I'm i don't need to arrive earlier than others to use the room I’ve paid for, right? Even the front desk staff mentioned there was nothing they could do at the time and offered no assistance or resolution for the situation. I struggled to find a hotel on the same day and had to pay a substantial fee for last-minute accommodation in Bruges, while the room I paid for is being rented by the hotel to someone else. As for the second reservation on august 13, 2023, the hotel's conditions were just as terrible as their treatment of customers. There was no nightstand as pictured, not even a single clothes hanger, the room was too hot to close the door in august (no air conditioning or fan), and the noise was unbearable with constant disturbances from the adjacent room's door and footsteps in the corridor. A 'wonderful' experience for a night's stay here, priced at €307. Congratulations, you're certainly running a splendid business. P/s: Bruges is a beautiful city but this hostel is a SHAME.

GGuest UserThe Hotel Montovani is a reasonably priced hotel that offers you all that you would expect or need. Its biggest asset, of course, is its location. It is located a block off the main avenue, Hoefijzerlaan and is just mere blocks away from the Historic City Center. The hotel has a lounge area and a glass covered veranda that opens out to a lovely small garden. This was the ideal location in which to enjoy the delicious breakfast or, perhaps to relax in the afternoon with a hot beverage. These were included in the room rate. The rooms were comfy and clean, the bed and pillows, comfortable, enabling you to wake up refreshed and ready to start your day of exploration. The service was friendly and efficient. There was free wifi. There was no onsite parking, but free parking was available on the nearby avenue, just minutes away. Bruges is the capital and largest city of West Flanders. It was inducted into UNESCO's World Heritage List in 2000. We were visiting Bruges with the intent of adding this World Heritage Site to our list, in this case, there would be three. Bruges's Historic City Centre is distinguished by its canals, cobbled streets, medieval buildings. In fact, along with cities such as Amsterdam, it is often referred to as the ”Venice of the North'. The Belfry of Bruges is part of the World Heritage Site of Belfries of Belgium and France list, which includes 56 Belfries in total. The tower, which dates from the 13th century, has 366 steps which lead to the top of the 272 feet high building. This is a must ”to do” climb! The third site is the Ten Wijngaerde Beguinage, a beguinage built in the 13th century and included in the World Heritage Site of ”Flemish Beguinages”. A Beguinage was an architectural complex which was built to house beguines, lay religious women who lived in the community without taking vows or retiring from the world. As we were only here for two nights, I do not have a lot of recommendations on where to eat dinner. The one dinner that we did eat here, was at the Cafe Sportsman, situated on the Markt. The meal was good and the service was good, but what was most extraordinary, was the location. There are many restaurants situated around this square, so your choice is quite overwhelming. The buildings are extraordinaire, the Belfry was located across from us, and in the evening, the light is very distracting. A visit to Bruges is worthwhile and actually deserves more than two nights, but there was still much ahead in our journey. So whether you stay longer or shorter, the Montovani comes with a high recommendation!
