We were allocated this hotel on a coach tour, if the tour operators had told us where we would be staying before we booked we wouldn’t have done the trip. The drivers of our coach advised the hotel two & half hours before we arrived that a lot of the party would like a evening meal The manager of this family run hotel advised that they did not offer a full meal but bar snacks were available, Pizza, lasagna and quiche. Upon arrival the drivers off loaded the cases which we were told would be brought to the room. After waiting for quite a while I went to find ours. One young girl was doing the cases, reception and bar on her own so I took our back to our room. Once we unpacked we went up to the bar to order food and a drink. Other guests advised that this poor girl was doing reception, bar and cooking the bar snacks, the had run out of everything apart from pizza. I left hubby in the bar and went out to find food. There is 1 very small bar about ten mins away, but I managed to find a Chinese takeout so we took this back to the room. The following day when we meet up with other guests advised we were told that many of them had waited longer for their food pizza was over cooked and some of the lasagnes were still frozen in the middle. Breakfast was very basic and staff were struggling to keep up a supply of glances, coffee and hot water for tea. The situation of the hotel is a good thirty minute walk up to the town so not suitable for anyone with walking issues. Although the coach company is also at fault for the way they allocate their customers to hotel the managers when I spoke to her on our last day thought that the issues faced by her staff member on the first night was ok. I would not advise anyone looking for a fairly basic but good hotel to use this one.
