Xiaocangshu Homestay

Wow what a way to enjoy the lake! Although a bit of a distance from the lake, I actually prefer this. The main road is cluttered with tourists in fancy hotels. This will give you some peace and possibly the same peace that used to exist in the area. The owner is fun and has a lot of energy. He will play local music till about midnight, but not to disturb you. His staff manage the charcoal stove through the night to keep your yurt warm. In the morning, the owner even offered to let us ride his horse! When finding the place, pass the security check on the main road, go till almost the tunnel and then make a u-turn right before. You’ll get on the gravel/dirt road shortly after and drive for about 10 minutes till you see the red flag. You can park right next to your yurt if you like.
