The worst hotel I have ever stayed in!! The room had mould the shower taps were hanging off the walls , there were holes in the wall where the headboard had fallen off of and was left behind the bed It was so bad I decided to check out and drive home !! I would not recommend this so called "hotel" to anyone it's a social club with rooms attached the straw that broke the camels back or should I say my back was the cardboard mattress.

Well always take reviews with a pinch of salt as, everyone has different tastes. But this, time, we were wrong. Starting on the good points it had running water. Electric and free parking. I can't think of any more good points. Hole in the wall where fittings have been taken down and not filled.,or filled poorly..The walls must of been painted during a game of blinds mans bluff. Streaks of green paint over the cream wall. The headboard taken off the wall so a clear patch that was painted at a different time. No toilet roll holder.no towel rails. TV with a, remote that didn't work, a heater that throughout the night gave a nice loud bang to make sure we knew it was still on. No bin no tea, and coffee pillows poor quality. Damp patches in room peeling paint in the shower. We only booked as the party was in the same building so convent. For about £5 more could of gone to the Premier Inn down the road.

AVOID AVOID AVOID!! Would give Zero if I could! Not all rooms have been refurbished as led to believe from website. Rooms cold and smell stale! Holes in walls, some holes badly filled and left. No tea & coffee making facilities in rooms. No hairdryer. Nowhere in bathroom to even put your tooth brush or even have a toilet roll holder in it! No toilet roll in room on arrival and not a coat hanger in sight! Staff walking around in their pyjamas - even during a function! Now as for actually being able to sleep...well you won't! You can hear every single noise in the building. Could hear the extractor fan in next doors bathroom (didn't have 1 in our room) the toilets being flushed, the taps going on and a horrendous spontaneous noise from plumbing elsewhere. Then there's the stange clicking noises - also at random times of the afternoon, evening & thought the night. Wanted a coffee at 9am (needed before the long journey home to keep us awake as only got 1 hr kip!!) from the communal tea & coffee in the lounge area - No cups, coffee/tea in sight & all members of staff too busy outside smoking! Will certainly pay double next time in Birmingham & stay at the Premier Inn around the corner.

A basic room but was clean and the bed was comfortable. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was equal to any other hotel for quality but could not be beaten for value. I was disappointed that there was no tea or coffee making facilities in the room but otherwise no serious issues.

This used to be a social club back in the day and is now an inn where you can stop over. We didn't stop there so can't comment on the rooms, but had Sunday roast from J 'S kitchen , and it was absolutely gorgeous , had the beef ,and it was as good as any top restaurant ,

On arrival I was worried from initial impressions, trying hard not to judge a book by its cover. Walked in through the back doors, the smell of cigarette smoke hit me, awful. A function was on in the hall, lots of noise. Reception is a bar. No hairdryers, bring your own. If you borrow an iron, there’s no boards. Kettle in room, but filthy and no drink facilities. No electrical items PAT tested. Hallway and stairwell like something from a dodgy multi story car park, stains, chewing gum and what smells like urine. Carpet had stains and crumbs everywhere. Holes in walls, from where furnitures been ripped out. Marks on walls. Bathroom- I wore my shoes the whole time. Shower has mould on tube and shower head. Just dirty. Not suitable for kids. Trains kept me awake. Plus the constant banging of the doors, dripping from guttering outside and plumbing in the building. Worst stay of my life. I spent 2 hours calling round other hotels, which were fully booked. Head to the purple palace, don’t try and save money by staying here. You’ll regret it.

Stayed here for 1 night in 29th September 2024. I was a bit dubious after reading some of the reviews , but we had a really comfortable night sleep. We booked a family room which consisted of 4 single beds. It was a bit cold at first, but the electric heated was great and got the room really warm . The staff were great , beds comfy. The only thing would be you only get 1 pillow, and no kettle in the room. Great value for money and would definitely stay here again.
