Hotels Near Galerie Eigen & Art in Berlin

I was checked in by a friendly receptionist at 1:20 pm and received my room right away. The lobby was nicely decorated and gave the impression of a 4-star city hotel. However, the room did not reflect 4-star standards as it was very small and a bit worn out yet clean and tidy. The room could fit a luggage rack, a small closet, a small desk as well as a small coffee table and two chairs. The queen bed was comfortable and the pillows great. The high ceiling gave the room an airy feel but the floorboards were showing their age and would need to be treated. There was a 0.5 L water bottle in the room on arrival, not replenished. There was also a safe and A/C. The trams outside were a bit noisy, but I slept well nevertheless. The thick curtains did a good job keeping the room dark in the morning. The bathroom came with a walk-in shower with excellent water pressure in the handheld shower. Amenities (shampoo, shower gel, hand soap and body lotion; no conditioner) were from Molton Brown, which is a brand I like, but they were provided in wall-mounted containers, which I don’t find as hygienic as single-use bottles even though I of course understand the motivation of saving money this way. Breakfast was served in the ground floor dining room 7–11 (weekends until noon). It would have cost a reasonable 17 EUR/person, but I did not try it. Check-out is already at 11, although they were happy to allow me to stay in the room until noon and to store my luggage until my evening flight. The hotel is located in Hackerscher Markt, with lots of restaurants and shopping in the area. The nearest Spätkauf for drinks and snacks is on the next block, and the S-Bahn to the airport is a few minutes away. Alexanderplatz is within walking distance; the centre of West-Berlin is a train ride away. Hotel prices in Berlin seem to have gone through the roof post-covid, and my nightly rate of 95 EUR felt a bit much. But I can very well see myself returning in future if the price is right. All in all a solid choice for a business trip or short holiday in Berlin.

I spent a superb four nights here with a family member (my sister) to explore the city of Berlin. Having stayed here before I was expecting the high standards of service, cleanliness and professionalism that I'd experienced before. I wasn't disappointed, from the friendly reception and booking in, to the standard if room, everything was as I recalled. The hotel is in remarkably short walking distance of all the major sites. A stroll down Schiffbauerdamm, on which the hotel is situated, will quickly take you to the Reichstag, Brandenburg Gate, Holocaust Memorial and much much more. Unter den Linden, Checkpoint Charlie and Alexanderplatz are all equally well within walking distance and almost as interesting is the history that you pass along the way. All staff interact with the guests with a smile and you really feel that nothing is too much trouble. Checking out was a simple, painless affair and leaving our bags safely in the hotel for a couple of hours til we were ready for departure was equally no problem. The hostel is very dirty. All the surfaces are sticky. There is a terrible stench in the rooms, toilets, corridors and lobby. Things forgotten by the previous tenants are lying around until they are thrown away by the current tenants. Mattresses are stained with brown stains, possibly menstrual blood (I was in the women's room). The pillows are crumpled and terribly uncomfortable. The beds stand so you can't fully open the window to air it out. The lobby is very noisy and smelly too, apparently there is no ventilation or it is blocked. Absolutely not recommended, even for 25€ a night! It's too much for this place.

Although the sparrow is small, it has all the internal organs, and the space arrangement is reasonable. It is a small hotel with a sense of design. It is clean and comfortable, and the service is super good. After checking out, luggage can be placed in a room on the first floor of the hotel. To ensure safety, the staff will lock the room not far from Alexanderplatz; go to Museum Island, August str. meters Shopping in the SAR is very convenient. The key is that this location, Prenzlauer Berg, is full of freedom, romance, and art... Don’t always stare at places and places of interest and historical sites where others are clocked in. Search Kollwitzstr on Google map. German female painter Kollwitz, used to be here I have stayed and recommend the Saturday market on this street, which is near this hotel, passing through Saarbrücken str. ➡️turn right ➡️and you will be there, coffee, bars, restaurants, galleries, everything, my favorite street.

The location of Hilton Berlin is fantastic and the exterior of the hotel plus the lobby is very beautiful. Very walkable location with many surrounding dining and sightseeing options. Overall, housekeeping was good. The rooms run fairly small and look dated, so value for money is not that great. Bathroom is clean but not very well-maintained, especially the toilet. The check-in concierge staff were ok but I would expect friendlier and more proactive service for the price we were paying and being a diamond member as well. The staff who was a blonde lady with glasses checked me in and out and was the friendliest staff i encountered during my stay. Rarely did the other staff smile or greet us when we walked past them and they generally did not have great customer service skills, and generally just unfriendly. The front door concierge and door staff were much friendlier and greeted us more than the check-in staff. I also had a very terrible experience with the night security staff when my friend and I came back to the hotel around 6 am after a night out. We walked in and were stopped by a man who was not wearing any uniform, or any attire to signal he was working at the Hilton, and in regular clothes, he was a bit hard to understand because he had a thick accent, and I thought he might be another patron at the hotel or a taxi driver, so I politely smiled at him and said “no thank you” and walked towards the elevator. He got extremely angry, began shouting at me, and said he was a worker there and showed me his keys with a Hilton keychain. He wanted to verify that we had a room key. While we were taking out the key, he was calling me rude and dismissive and that I was a terrible person. It was so jarring because there was no need to be that rude, he was acting like I shooed him away when I’m reality it was a miscommunication. He then went into the back of the concierge to complain about me loudly, didn’t even wait till I was out of earshot. It was hard to identify him as a staff, much less security, and I didn’t need to be scolded like a child. Overall, very unprofessional and made the remainder of my stay feel much more sour. I can look past the dated rooms because I know that is out of the staff’s control at that point of time. But unprofessional and unfriendly staff make the value of my stay and diamond member status much worse.

This hotel lived up to my expectations. It was well located, spotless, the breakfast was excellent and the atmosphere healthy and positive. I must thank the Young lady on reception, the morning of my departure, Sunday morning, 21st May, who went to great lengths to help me get the right bus to the airport, and then the correct platform for the last bit of the journey. Her instructions were faultless. The bar, late night, was busy and the service, fast and friendly.

Although the room are nice (good coffee and nicely furnished), the overall experience is rather poor. The staff (1 person only during day and the night shift) is far too inexperienced and likely all below the age of 20. We had the change room twice due to leakage in the air conditioning system. Making sure the wooden floor did not damage from the water, towels were used, but it was clear the staff didn’t bother and made a fuzz about giving us a new room. Also when you call the staff from your room with the room telephone, they do not pick up. When you call them with your cell phone, they pick up. Why? Further, we selected the hotel partially because of the good looking gym. Surprise, you pay for the gym, each time you use it: €15 per person. The Spa is not open, due to the fact that the hotel recently opened (?). It is clear that the hotel is significantly understaffed and that the service level is poor. Cost cutting is understandable post covid, but we got the feeling that the expenses applied for building this place were high, and that cost cutting may make this place profitable long time in the future. Location is good; close to well functioning public transport. Breakfast was fine, no worries there.

The staff were very nice and kind, the location is really good since it's so close to the attractions, the price is alright, the rooms we're unfortunately dusty, dirty,few spider webs here and there and they especially looked sad and depressing. The breakfast was good, but the choice was very little unfortunately. It's an OK place for a short visit of Berlin

I went to this hotel for a mid-week vacation with my lovely daughter. With an UBER it was about 10 Euro to get to the hotel. Check-in was smooth, the older man behind the desk wasnt overly friendly but rather efficient and that was fine. We paid the tourist-tax and got one room-key for our room. We paid online about 80 Euro a night and we got a room with three beds at the back. The room was clean and simple. A desk with a big-screen TV, a shower-room with a toilet and a wash-basin. The shower was ok but we didnt like the shower-curtains. Also the water would be warm for about five minutes but it didnt bother us. Everyday cleaning with new linen and towels. In the morning you can have breakfast but you have to pay for it. We didnt use it. The hotel is set conveniently in the middle of Berlin near Kurfurstenstrasse and Dam. Near the U-Bahn and busses.
