LiMei, the caretaker, is really hospitable. Brought us for lunch at a restaurant nearby. She arranged transport to the inn from where the bus stopped. We took bus 980 and 51 to the town. Took about 2.5 hrs to 3 hrs to reach. I love how close the inn is to the Gubei Water town itself. We paid 140cny for each adult. Less than 10 min walk. Clean and cosy inn. For dinner, we ordered from the same restaurant and they delivered to us. The food was good and affordable.

This apartment is near to GuBei Water Town and Simatai Great Wall (司马台长城). The room is decent and very clean with a day and night view of Simatai Great Wall (司马台长城). The lady boss is also friendly and very helpful.

I spent 3 weekdays at MingTang LinShui Inn, right next to Gubei Water Town, and had a great stay. The host doesn’t speak English but was very kind, helpful, and welcoming throughout my visit.
The location is excellent, with plenty of restaurants and convenience stores nearby. Gubei Water Town is within walking distance—while there's an entrance fee to explore the old quarter, the surrounding area is also peaceful and scenic, perfect for a relaxing stroll.
Just a note: weekends can get crowded, and there may be some noise from nearby night events. But on weekdays, it's quiet, calm, and truly a lovely escape. Highly recommend for a peaceful weekday getaway!

Very friendly care taker, with clean units. Only set back is not many eatery within walking distance but good things is restaurants at nearby village can provide free shuttle for those want to have meals there 😊

The hotel is located at the entrance to Gubeikou, very characteristic and where the cable car is located. The owner was very kind and not only gave us an upgrade to the room but also accompanied us into the village, showing us the points of interest and took us to a good restaurant. The room was large and with a beautiful view of the wall lit up at night.
