Nanguo Hotel (Taoranting Subway Station Branch Beijing)

The hotel is generally clean, good value, and conveniently located right next to the subway. The double room I stayed in was spacious and tidy. While there are stairs to climb, elderly people can stay on the lower floors.

Pros: Excellent location, located within the Second Ring Road, 50 meters from the nearest subway station and one subway stop from South Station, making it very convenient for other attractions. Cons: 1. Upon check-in, a strong, unpleasant odor from the bathroom floor drain reached my head as soon as I opened the door. 2. The facilities are outdated. The door lock was broken, and the shower head in the bathroom was broken, forcing me to use the shower head by hand. The amenities are very basic, making it more like a hostel than a hotel. 3. The room was too small. I booked a twin room, which was too cramped for two people and wouldn't have accommodated much luggage. 4. The room was not soundproof. As mentioned above, due to the odor, I tried to open the windows for fresh air at night, but due to the proximity to the road, the noise was very loud, especially during the night when there was construction on the road. I had to close the windows, but the noise was devastating and made it impossible to sleep. In summary: Apart from the location, there were few other highlights.
