Don't book this unless you want to be stranded and left without accommodation.
The booking is completely misleading as the villa is nothing like it's advertised. We thought we booked a room in the villa as this was the name of the booking and the address and amenities mentioned in the booking on Trip.com. However, it turned out the room was in a completely different location and building and had none of the amenities it said it would in our bookings. After mentioning this to the owner,板筋, he argued and quickly started shouting at us. Before we knew it he cancelled the reservation and left the us without saying another word. We did not get a refund and he kept the money for the reservation. While Trip.com tried to be helpful, they couldn't get our money back, even though the information on their website was absolutely incorrect.
Response from Property: The room type booked by the guest was a king bed room with a view, and the room type provided after arriving at the hotel was also a king bed room with a view. However, because he was a foreign guest and there were differences between Chinese and foreign cultures, the guest thought he was booking a villa and thought that the hotel's facilities were all. It was in the room he booked, which was obviously wrong. There was nothing wrong with the content displayed by the hotel, and the room was provided according to the order. This kind of misunderstanding caused by cultural differences and language barriers between China and foreign countries caused bad feelings for the guests. We are very sorry for the feeling, and hope that subsequent guests will carefully browse the relevant room type introduction.

About the hotel : it's not an hotel, more like a B&B - which is completely fine but good to have in mind.
About the room : We have to say we found the description to be quite misleading compared to the room we had - but it's maybe because stuff got lost in translation. The room we were in was in a massive building (no villa), hardly had a view, and especially no swimming pool access. Nothing compared to the pictures we saw. Appart from that deception the room was good, clean, of good size and had a balcony.

The place is clean, spacious and look exactly like how depicted in the pictures. Check in is easy with check in code, host is very responsive. The location is right next to water town that we could walk to water town and Great Wall. However it’s gated community. Our Didi and Taxi couldn’t go inside due to locked gate. We had to walk all the way to the parking lot outside to get Didi.

This accommodation accepts foreigners.
After booking this place, tried to contact owner via WeChat with contact provided, but owner never added me until I needed to text in Chinese from my phone (using translator). When arrived to the location he sent me on a map, I received directions to find the apartment myself. We never once met the owner of the property. All conversations using Wechat were in Chinese (me using translator).
The little studio was clean when we arrived, but later at night was full of loud insects that we had to eliminate in order to sleep. The bed was very hard not comfortableat all. The kitchen was supposed to have everything available to make meals (at least was what I have read in previous reviews) but in reality had nothing, not even a spoon. It was a very simple place, a bit expensive for what you get.

We had a great time. It said bbq allowed when we booked, but we got a unit where we couldn’t bbq, when asked about it, the host quickly offered us a different(amazing) unit, where our kids played all day long, while we relaxed and had a bbq. We didn’t even leave the Vila until we checked out, as it had everything we needed, and there was a lot to keep the kids busy.

This is a serviced apartment close to WTown. It is difficult to get to as the traffic is restricted and you need to contact the house keeper. Make sure you have someone with you who speaks Chinese. The apartments seem to be owned by several different people and the beds and quality differ considerably. We were moved to one that had better beds and amenities.

This was my worst hotel experience when I was traveling China. Most of it could have been avoided by the hotel informing me prior to the trip that there is a central reception at the central square in front of Gubei WTown where you will most likely get the information about your room location. What I didn't know is that the area is a huge resort complex with several houses and that it didn't make any sense to try and find my small hotel (what it looked like from the booking) via map because the location was different on all apps I was using (AMap, Trip, Google Maps). It took me an hour until an elderly woman stopped me and called what I think was the reception, added somebody in my WeChat contacts (receptionist?) and only then I got the information - after carrying my bags around for 1 hour. From then on, the stay went smoothly although I got scammed with a ridiculously high taxi transfer offer (which I had to take at least one way as there were no other options for me as a non-Chinese speaking European traveler.

After searching for a hotel that allows foreigners (sadly most don’t), I found this villa literally within 100m of the rest. Excellent choice. The staff was extremely helpful. We checked in a little early so understandably our room was not ready yet but they were eager to help immediately. Very clean and warm inside. Kitchen had everything you need to prepare food and it’s all walking distance from Gubei Watertown. We’ll be coming back in the summer

The room I got had no AC and it was really cold. Water in the shower couldn't keep the same temperature - it was hot then cold then hot again. Then we got into bed and realized that the blanket stinks with chemicals and the pillow was so hard I felt like sleeping on a stone. We found another blanket in the wardrobe, but it was pure synthetics and was electrocuting us all night🙁 then we found other pillows on the sofa and had to use them instead of the hard pillows. That's how we slept.
People come to hotel to have a good rest - a clean soft bed and hot shower are the basics.
By the way, the window view doesn't match the one from pictures on Ctrip.

We stayed in a very good hotel. If the faucet is turned off for too long, there will be short-term cold water.
