Atour S Hotel (Beijing Dongzhimen)

The hotel is located at a quiet corner of a street. It’s near a bus stop (~400m) and a train station. The room was clean. We were upgraded to an apartment type of room on level 2 and there was a washing machine in the toilet.

Very decent place with good facilities and service. I would definitely stay in this hotel if I re-visit Beijing.

Hotel is about 30 mins to Capital International airport, also opposite Zuojiazhuang exit B which easily to travel via subway. Breakfast is not that much variety, but good taste. The hotel also provides porridge in evening for free. Room size is good. Hotel staff cannot communicate via English, but show willing to help. Use Translator to communicate is okay.

We had a wonderful stay! The location was very convenient, the service was excellent, and the breakfast exceeded our expectations. Highly recommended!

The room was great, and I stayed there for five days overall, had a pretty good experience. The hotel is really close to Metro Line 17, which is convenient. Just keep in mind that this line stops running at 11 pm, with the last train around 10:20 pm. If you miss this timing, it’s a good idea to book a cab to get back from start. The location is quite central. Getting to spots like Tiananmen Square takes about 40-50 minutes because of the line changes, but it’s only around 6-7 stations from the hotel. One thing to note about the room. I wasn’t told that the centralized air conditioning would be off. When I asked, they explained that all hotels rated 4 stars and above turn off the central AC from March to mid-April. I’m not sure if that’s accurate since it was my first time in Beijing, but that’s what they said. If it feels too warm, you can crack open the small side window or ask for a fan. It wasn’t really an issue for me since the weather was around 4°C during my stay, so it was cool enough without opening the window. I didn’t try the hotel breakfast, so I can’t comment on that. The front desk staff were polite and helpful, though. Overall, I had a great stay, just double-check the AC situation before you book if that’s important to you. Hope this helps!

No Air conditioning in hotel . We booked this hotel as it stated air conditioning in the advert for booking. Weather was warm (high 20's) but rooms were like a sauna so I didn't sleep well at all . Wimdows only open 2 inches ! After complaint to reception at 2am about air conditioning not working they confirm it's not air conditioning its an air purified system to cleans the air . So No air conditioning in the hotel . I felt this was very misleading as the advert on Trip.com clearly states air conditioning. Don't know what we would of done if it was peak.of summer time! Rooms are very hot like sauna. Hotel was clean , big , location was good few resturants within walking distance. Staff were helpful at reception. Breakfast had choices yogurts fruits chinease breakfast. Only thing that let the hotel down was lack of air conditioning for a 4 star. Be warned if you struggling to sleep in the humid warm weather.
