A super hotel in a great location. The room was better than expected and we were both pleased with the level of efficiency in the staff.
Thankyou

Bath Abbey Hotel, a Marriott Tribute Portfolio Property
I booked this hotel in Bath through trip.com. I took advantage of two promotions on the platform: a £5.99 railcard purchase and £5 off train tickets, both requiring booking a European hotel within 26 days through trip.com. Considering that the official website’s prices were quite similar, I went with the trip.com booking. I reserved a cozy room for 1 adult without breakfast for £113. Money-saving tip: I used TopCashback to access trip.com, earning $7.67 cashback for this booking. After I checked out, trip.com triggered an immediate discount of £10.46, which I applied to my next train ticket purchase.
❤️ Third-party Marriott members get perks, too!
This hotel falls under the Marriott Tribute Portfolio, embracing a boutique hotel approach. The entire establishment dates back to 1739, boasting a historic exterior. It’s conveniently situated just about 3 minutes’ walk from the Roman Baths and across from Sally Lunn’s. With my Marriott Platinum Card, even with a third-party reservation, the hotel upgraded us to a larger ground floor room facing the street after matching our account, but it’s not advisable due to potential noise. They also offered complimentary à la carte breakfast. Breakfast slots had to be reserved during check-in, and we chose a table at 10 AM. The breakfast was abundant, and the restaurant had a charming and lovely atmosphere. The experience was excellent (the best things are free!). Unfortunately, I don’t have space for more photos, but I’ll post one of the restaurant later.
The room was quite small, designed in a modern British style, with a movie-themed decor according to the posters on the wall. All the amenities were provided, with local brand toiletries available for purchase at the front desk for £25 for two bottles. They were decent, but nothing extraordinary to consider bringing back home. The minibar had coffee, various teas, semi-skimmed milk packets, and biscuits. The bottled still water was in an aesthetically pleasing canned form.
🌟 There’s an Elemis sleep kit on the bedside: temple balm/sleep mist/eye cream, placed over a hotel postcard, looking quite exquisite.
The bed was very comfortable.
❌ However, there were a few drawbacks to this place… a bit unnerving… I’m not sure if I just had bad luck. The hotel corridors were somewhat confusing, and I accidentally opened the wrong room door once using my own room card. Strangely, the next day around ten o’clock, while I was in the bathroom and my son was on the bed, despite securing the latch on our door, someone managed to open it slightly, presumably seeing my son on the bed, and then closed the door. Perhaps it was a housekeeping staff member wanting to clean the room? Regardless, it felt quite odd… a little unsettling, to be honest

We stayed in a triple room and were delighted with the comfort and cleanliness. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was amazing - 2 of us had the full English and 1 had avocado, smoked salmon and poached egg on toast. There was also a selection of fresh fruit, yoghurt, juices, pastries, coffee and tea. All delicious. The location is superb, being very central.

Advantages: Leaving the lively city center, just living on the first floor, the beautiful garden outside the window, has a really relaxing time. The room is large and the facilities are old but complete with a vintage feel. The breakfast bagel is a big highlight, and the standard breakfast is comparable to other UK hotels, which is amazingly delicious. The service staff is also very warm and friendly, but also very humorous, all kinds of jokes with me. Disadvantages: My so-called big bed is made up of two single beds, one can't sleep in the middle.

There are shops and supermarkets nearby, and it is also close to the city area, making it a comfortable place to spend time. The interior is also beautiful. The stairs were narrow, so it was a little difficult to lift my luggage, but after that, I had no problems and had a comfortable stay. The staff were also kind.

The room is very spacious, the breakfast is very rich, with Scottish characteristics slowly, the hotel is not big, it is an accommodation facility for a golf course. The lady at the front desk is very enthusiastic ❤️ It is worth staying, playing, and tasting.

GGuest UserThe hotel is good overall, but the room and restaurant are too small. There was a rugby match, and the local hotel prices skyrocketed, so the cost performance was very low. The breakfast was semi-self-service, and there were not many types of food that you could pick up yourself. The highlight was the hotel's SPA, which was good, but the time limit was very strict, you could only go there for a few hours a day, and only the SPA room type could go there.
OOnigiri608We enjoy our stay in Apex very much. We received a warm welcome from Tony at the front desk. He was being very friendly the whole time and even recommended us places to visit in Bath. The room was exactly how we expected. The swimming pool and spa facilities were spectacular. Tony suggested us to reserve the time slot that was least busy so that we could enjoy the best of them.
CCameo19Excellent location, right in the centre. Very clean and modern hotel, lovely sitting area in the lobby. Room was cosy and modern with a big TV. Bed was comfortable but pillows were too soft. Shower was powerful. Breakfast was adequate. We parked at the nearby car park that was £20.
GGuest UserIts meant to be a luxury-ish short weekend getaways before my job starts as my partner can't take a long leave.
The delux double room is a huge disappointmemt.Understably, it is a very premium location and other guest probably pay a lot more. However, I wouldn't think of paying over £300 to get a room feeling like a old day servant's room. Being placed at the roof extension room with the view mostly blocked, the floor makes the typical old wooden cracking noise as we walk. The curtain, carpet and bathroom are not in the best condition. The glass on top of the table and desk are not well fitted.
Another thing is that, without any previous notice, the spa closed foe maintenance the morning we leave. The fake plants make it look less luxury than its branded.
The plus side, it is kind of inclusive which the spa pool, gym and breakfast are included. The breakfast is quite nice if you like English breakfast or they have some basic buffet.
SSPW13We got a family room, the fold out bed was not made and the quilt was dirty/stained. The staff changed the room for us and this time is was Ok. Cutlery at breakfast had to be wiped down before use. Staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel itself was close to the Centre
GGuest UserFantastic location, great hotel with friendly helpful staff. Room was clean and tidy with a beautiful view. Breakfast was one of the best hotel breakfasts we’ve had in a long time, lovely bright restaurant with really friendly staff. We will absolutely be back.
GGuest UserThis is a beautiful Victorian building on the outskirts of Bath. It has been modernised with very careful thought to the original, beautiful architecture, making it a lovely but comfortable place to stay. I love that the bathroom was 'old style' but still had all the modern necessities.
On entering, we were greeted by a lovely receptionist, who was delighted to share details of the area and best way to walk into the town. This we did - twice the same day. It is a bit of an uphill march to get back to the hotel, but we did it in about 20 minutes.
We had gone to Bath to enjoy the town, see a play at The Royal Theatre and enjoy food and a drink. Being close enough to the town to walk, meant we did not need the car from arrival to departure, so left it in the Car Park at the hotel.
The room was comfortable and the breakfast lovely, and they catered for our requirements for gluten free without problem.
Overall, if I went back to Bath, I would certainly stay here again.
AAgouzichituThere is no elevator, so it is a bit painful to live on a high floor. Fortunately, the front desk is quite friendly and can help move things. We were upgraded to a larger room. Of course, the overall facilities are relatively old, similar to the old guesthouses in China. But overall it is still relatively clean
LLouiseFantastic Hotel - great location - perfect for the train station and wandering around Bath. Our room was clean, tidy and comfortable. Very good, tasty breakfast. All the staff were friendly and welcoming. Thanks for a lovely stay. We’ll definitely be back!
GGuest UserPositives - excellent receptionist (Vipin) and without his help I would have probably checked out early. Has parking. Reasonable location and access into central Bath. Has an electric kettle and a pack of cookies.
Not so positives - In desperate need of upgrade, creaking floors, wash basin outside the bathroom. It isn’t for work related travellers as you cannot even use an iron without tripping off the entire building main switch and once that happen there is no 24 hour active reception. No fan or iron provided in room so you have to ask. Tiny computer monitor used as a make shift TV that you have to pull out of a closet. No drinking water in room. Value for money not there as many better locations available at same or lower price.
