Macdonald Bath Spa Hotel

I had a truly disappointing and bizarre experience at this hotel. When an issue arose regarding our stay, instead of resolving it with basic customer service standards, the staff completely lost their professionalism and escalated the situation unnecessarily. Shockingly, when we tried to communicate reasonably, multiple staff members became confrontational and dramatically claimed they would "see us in court." Threatening paying guests with legal action over routine service issues is not only absurd and unprofessional, but also shows a severe lack of proper management and staff training. A hospitality brand should focus on guest satisfaction, not intimidation. I strongly advise prospective guests to think twice before staying here—there are far better alternatives with staff who actually understand basic customer service.

Enjoyed the stay. I came here with two friends and I stayed in a room by myself. Spacious and clean room even tho some touch up in the bathroom would be nice. Very friendly staff from the moment we checked in till we checked out. Lovely spa facilities. Beautiful hotel. Safe area as we walked to the city centre and back at different times. Quiet but safe.

It was a truly magical experience! Felt like I was living a fairytale! Amaziing hotel, amazing staff! I am definitely going back soon!

Nice old building in its grounds. Broken bathroom fixtures; tap covers, toilet roll holder. Slim room offerings, fridge but not stocked or plugged in anywhere available. Why is it here? 2x espresso per room, no biscuits, kettle in cupboard and has to be relocated in room. Ancient TV. Leaking iron. Staff seem fed up. Bar has only 1 choice of cider!!! 😭

The hotel covers a large area and is well worth a walk. The hot spring and swimming pool are not big

It was an amazing experience, I love the hotel, the staff was lovely and the garden is just beautiful. I will definitely back.

Sold as a 5 star hotel and although it did look good from the outside,the inside was very dated and lacking tlc.the bathroom had what looked like black mould around the wall furniture and the sink had been covered in a wrap which was torn and some of the metal fixtures where corroded.the breakfast took over an hour as they seemed to take precedents over vips in the dining room who got food very quickly.from sitting down to receiving our breakfast took an hour both days.the staff where very apologetic but that does t make up for poor service and the quality was average.The Spa was also dated and the Gym was small with very little in it for a proper workout.
