We have just come back from a 7 night stay at this hotel. We had a 2 bedroom apartment which was huge, very clean , modern and warm. We were lucky to have 2 separate balconies that over looked the mountains. The food was buffet style for breakfast and dinner. You could also order off the menu. There was a great deal of choice and it tasted amazing. The staff were very lovely and helpful in the restaurant. We also had 2 massages at the spa that week, the ladies were incredible and the guy who looked after the reception was so welcoming, chatty and very funny, There are 2 bars, 1 downstairs and 1 upstairs,, Booby who ran the downstairs bar was a delight and made the best frozen daiquiri’s! That bar was more lively that played live football etc of an evening. The upstairs bar is a lot quieter, their happy hour cocktails were very good and the views are beautiful at sunset from there. Overall the hotel, facilities and staff were 10/10 and I would definitely stay there again.

I stayed in Feb 2025 for a ski trip. Overall I’d say this is a basic option suitable for a couple of nights but didn’t feel like a 4 star experience. The price I paid was €360 for 4 nights. The site is quite big and about a 15 min walk (downhill) into Bansko town and the Gondola. There is a shuttle morning and afternoon which was reliable. The apartment was very big which is an obvious plus, but as a whole it felt very worn out and basic. There were a few simple things which lowered the experience substantially, namely: the curtains didn’t cover the windows fully, and the fixtures were very worn. Pretty much all wall fixtures were hanging out (e.g. hooks, towel rail, soap holder), there were cracks in the mirror and tiles, and everything was loose including taps which wobbled or were hard to use because they rotated when turned. The water pressure was very strong but the shower head was small and uneven which made showering less enjoyable. There were no trays in the shower for toiletries. The bedding was thin and I found the pillows lumpy. There are a couple of glasses and cups in the kitchenette but not much for catering. However, the room was extremely clean and housekeeping was fine with fresh towels every day. There are many facilities but I didn’t use much so can’t talk to those, but overall the hotel lobby, restaurant, and bar felt dated, worn, and basic. They had a wine tap dispenser in the lobby which I used one evening but they only offered plastic cups not wine glasses. It’s worth mentioning that my friends stayed in a 3 bed apartment which seemed a lot more modern so it may be some rooms are better than others.

The rooms are very specious and cosy, with plenty of storage and very good size beds, we stayed in two bedroom apartment and we had two separate bathrooms which made it very comfortable. Food is very healthy and good, with options for vegetarians and little ones. Comfortable location, walking distance from city center as well as quiet for those who wants to just chill after busy day of skiing, shuttle to and from gondola makes it very comfortable as well, however drivers can be a bit grumpy, but the rest of the staff is perfect. Receptionist Anna made our stay so comfortable, she was very welcoming, helpful and explained everything we needed to know, the barmen Bob made our evenings fun and guy in the sauna was super welcoming as well. In general we loved staying in St. George palace and know recommend it to others. We definitely will be back!

On arrival the foyer is cosy and inviting with a large and very impressive fire. Reception staff very helpful. Rooms are not so fancy but met our needs. We actually had to move rooms following a plumbing emergency (freak occurrence, not a reflection on the hotel). We had booked a 2 bedroom apartment for myself, husband and 2 children 12 & 14 as we didn’t feel it was fair for them to share a sofa bed if we got a 1 bedroom apt. In the first apt both bedrooms had twin beds. Bathroom was equipped with bath and separate shower. Shower wasn’t the best, if you turned it up too high it would flip up like a crazy hose, spraying over the top of the screen and soak the whole bathroom. Kitchen had dishwasher, 2 ring hob and electric oven and a very tiny fridge. There were 4 cups, glasses, plates, bowls, etc, a frying pan and saucepan. Living area had a sofa that fitted the 4 of us (we’re all quite slim) and a Tv. The room we were moved to was a bit bigger, still 2 bedrooms but one had bunk beds with a small double on the bottom, the other had twin beds. Kitchen this time had a 4 ring hob, electric oven, large fridge and bigger dishwasher. No pans this time but I brought a couple of my own saucepans, a frying pan, wooden spoon and disposable tin foil trays for the oven. Both rooms also had dish soap, a tea towel and dish cloth provided although I had brought my own along with dishwasher tabs. Plenty of cupboard space for food. Again just basic necessities provided for cutlery/plates, etc. Shower was better although it leaked. Curtains weren’t quite wide enough for all the windows. So all in all, rooms weren’t luxurious but were comfy and fit for purpose. Plenty of towels provided. We went to the pool/hot tub a couple of times, robes and slippers provided in room and towels in spa. No issues with the facilities, not too busy but we were there outside of school holiday times. We didn’t eat in the restaurant but had pizza delivered to our room a couple of nights when I was too tired to cook and it was delicious. Room service prices are the same as the hotel restaurant prices with 10% added for room service fee. We thought price was very reasonable. There was a shuttle to take everyone down to the gondola in the mornings and back to the hotel in the afternoon, last one at 5pm. Distance into town is walkable but not in ski boots. We found grocery shopping limited in the town, ‘supermarkets’ were small and overpriced. Always check your change if you pay cash!! Due to this and also limited time to shop if you are out skiing all day, I wouldn’t do self catering again. We booked with Balkan and were very happy with the service we received from them. We got fast passes for the gondola as standard with Balkan which is invaluable. We also left our ski gear in the hire shop at the gondola station so didn’t need to carry anything apart from our boots. We had a great week in Bansko and would recommend it for beginner skiers. We would also go back to St George palace.

Great hotel for our first family skiing holiday. We stayed half board and in the 2 bedroom apartment. Breakfast and dinner were excellent. The food was wonderful- but if you have fussy eaters you may struggle as there’s no chips and chicken nugget type options. The spa was brilliant and a welcome treat after a day of skiing. The whole hotel was really child friendly and welcoming. We will be returning.

Myself and teenage son had a great four night stay in the hotel. It was spotlessly clean and all the staff were attentive and helpful. The manager especially quickly agreed a late check out for us so we could have an extra days skiing. Pool, food, ski hire and shuttle bus etc all of quality , nothing was too much trouble for them Thankyou ,we hope to return with the rest of the family another trip. Scott and Rory Baird.
