Fairfield Inn & Suites Commerce

Perfectly located on I85 some 2.5 hrs north of Ft. Benning, GA. It's a great stop option after a long drive. Multiple restaurants, gas stations and nearby stores should you need to buy something before continuing your journey north or southbound. Immaculate clean rooms, friendly personnel and complimentary breakfast, with 24 hrs access to a coffee pot. The hotel honors discounts for active duty military and government officials with ID. Highly recommended.

One night stay in a corner 2 room suite, king bed.  The room was adequately clean and large.  Even though we weren't there long enough to need it, I really liked that there was a second smaller closet in addition to the main fairly roomy closet.  The bed was very comfortable.  There are 2 thermostats, though it was hard to regulate the temperature in the two areas.  The breakfast choices were ok; scrambled eggs, sausage, assorted breads and fruits, waffle maker, yogurt and cereal.  Every employee we encountered was pleasant. My only complaint was for a couple of cases of bad odors in our room, number 201.  The first was the distinct odor of skunk, (or skunk ****?).  I checked the hallway and the smell was not noticeable there.  Later in the evening the overwhelming smell of automobile exhaust- I guess from the parking lot or the very nearby interstate.  The living room window, although not open, can open directly onto several outdoor HVAC units and that may have contributed to the problem.  Both times the smell only lingered for 2-3 minutes and did not return.  The exhaust smell was bad enough that if it had occurred a second time I would've requested a room change.  Overall, a decent place for a single overnight stay.

We stay at this hotel several times a year. I stayed here recently and the first thing I noticed when I walked in the lobby was how clean it smelled. It's clean, has good sized rooms, and a friendly staff. You can set your own room temp which is a big plus for me. One of the closest hotels to the outlets if that's what you're looking for.

Room not cleaned. Food left in fridge and trash left in bathroom trash can from previous guest. Bathroom did not have bar soap or a soap dish in counter. Manager on duty did not seem all that concerned when I brought this to her attention. Would not stay here again.
