The Athenee Hotel, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Bangkok

This is truly what luxury is - for someone who stayed in many hotels across Bangkok for example JW Marriot, Waldorf Astoria, St Regis and even Siam kempinski I tell you this is hands down top notch - true Thai hospitality and they are very accommodating. I was blown away by the service - I stayed in the Athenee Suite - and you get exclusive VIP treatment and check in on the 26th Floor - those who want comfort and real Thai grace and service this hotel is for you

The service during our stay was not as expected and not worth its high cost. We left a note which asking for another body lotion due to dry weather, nothing supplement the next day. When check out, reception desk even showed an incorrect room bill. How could this happen to a high quality service hotel! BTW, meals and service in each restaurant are really perfect!

Location is excellent! Located right next to BTS Phloen Chit Station and it is easy to get grab and somehow ”avoided” the terrible traffic in bangkok at times. However, the only downside is the lift servicing the hotel. It is extremely slow and one was faulty during my stay. And the noise of traffic can be heard from 12th floor. Light sleeper should probably take a slight note of that. Other than that I do not really have any complaints. Thank you!

This hotel is not suitable for a group. The staffs aren’t helpfulness and not willing to help solving the problem. We check in with 5guests with 3 room. During the stay, we need a common area to reunite our group to chit-chat and eating the snacks together so we ask the staff about it. One said that she can’t help with that we need to stay inside the rooms only. So we came to another staff to ask for a place, she told us to go to the 9th floor but the guy at 9th floor said no. Then we ask another guy again, he said he can provide some space by the pool, but a guy by the pool said no to us as well. By asking 6 staffs, I’m so confused with the situation. Nobody can help or solve us the problem. Eventually, we ended up with squeezing 5 ppl in a room and throw away all of our stale foods.

The Okura Prestige Bangkok

Stayed at Okura Prestige Bangkok for 5d4n and it was amazing. The location is very convenient as it was connected to the BTS via the hotel building and the service was impeccable. Their turn down service is really amazing. A bottle of water and a floor mat with a shoe will be placed by the bedside every night to welcome me to sleep and there will also be a crane origami placed on the bed every night with additional papers and instructions on how to fold it. The breakfast was also good with 2 options available which is either international buffet breakfast or japanese breakfast. Both are good and delicous. The French Toast from the breakfast was really the best that I have ever tasted!!!. Additionally, the view from the pool was really amazing and the pool is a salt water heated pool. So it's really comfortable to swim in the morning and at night with no chlorine smell. I would most definitely come back when I visit Bangkok in the future.
