The Siam

Riverside Bangkok|1.98km from Preeya Thai massage
We had the pleasure of staying at The Siam for 4 nights in early May 2022. Quarantine-free travel had just lifted so we were lucky to have almost the entire hotel to ourselves for a few days.. Our stay was amazing. The service was impeccable, our private butler (Tong) helped us out with all of our bookings and arrangements and was a great source of recommendations on top of the Bangkok guide provided by the hotel which was very helpful as well. We met the general manager, Nick, who was very accommodating and regularly checked in to make sure our stay was 100%. The hotel room we had was spacious and well decorated with a comfy kingsize bed. The interior of the hotel is like a combination of a palace meets museum, with antique art from around the world in every room and hallway. We found the library was a great place to do some quiet work (unfortunately that was required), and we made use of the private hotel boat to get anywhere on the river, such a fun (and quick!) way to get around Bangkok and avoid the sometimes busy traffic. The restaurant was also great - what better way to start the day than having breakfast overlooking the river. Would also recommend the Spa downstairs, a very relaxing way to recover from busy Bangkok, as well as making use of the “screening room” which is a small private cinema you can book whilst ordering from the room-service menu. We will certainly stay here again on our next trip to Bangkok, absolutely worth it and 10/10 recommended.

Khaosan Road Bangkok|0.15km from Preeya Thai massage
Bathroom drain is slow to drain so you end up standing in a puddle of water for most of the shower. The room was meant to have a safe, but didn't, so I had nowhere to securely place my valuables whilst in the hotel or in Bangkok altogether. The hotel advertised having a roof top bar, but it wasn't functioning at the time of my stay. Although breakfast was included, it was across the road at another hotel who was doing them a favour, and the choices were less than optional, and even when I advised I didn't want onion in my meal in writing (I have an allergy) it came with onion anyway. I did not eat there again during my stay. Bottled water was not supplied daily. The hallways had the cleaning crews equipment blocking the access most days, and there was a dirty leftover plate from someone's dinner left in the hallway for 2 days. My room was meant to have a city view. From the window I could see the wall of the building next to us no more than 1 metre away. So, just a wall view. The hotel parking is an enigma. How anybody gets in and out of there without an accident is beyond me. I would like to say something positive, so on my last night there, the hotel staff person at the desk was very helpful in booking me a taxi for the following morning so that I could leave for my next destination. The taxi arrived and did actually take me to where I needed to go. I like the artwork in the hotel, but it is not a reason to stay there. Stay somewhere else.

Khaosan Road
The hotel is quiet, because it is not too close to Khaosan Road which tends to be noisy with music, but not far from Khaosan Road, it can still be reached on foot without feeling tired. Along the street in front of the hotel there are restaurants and street vendors to buy food. The hotel looks vintage, but still artistic. The hotel staff were not friendly in communicating, but were still willing to help if asked for help, especially the night guard staff, who were not as friendly as Thai people in general. There is warm water and a blower in the bathroom, there is a refrigerator and television.

... as a frequent traveller I will only review if I believe there is something very good or very bad for others to know about.. So why is OH BOUTIQUE in Bkk Samsen Soi 4 is a place to avoid? The main reason for that is the way it is managed, currently buy a guy called Eddie. We booked this room in advance to stay for 7 nights stay in Bkk old town. As we arrived for theirr official 3pm check in, they first delayed check in for 1- 2 hours and then told us we had to wait for 2 extra days before they could fix some water issue. As we returned 2 days later at 3pm check in time they told us we could check in, but had to wait another 2 hours for cleaning the room....and as we returned they then told us we theree still was some issue and we could not check in. Being totally stranded, they promised they would contact *********** and get us refunded the next day. Was that the truth? Unfortunately not...they did not refund nor did they make any effort to do so...and as we tried every day to get our refund we wasted 7 days....Oh Boutique will not answer any messages or calls. You can try email, phone call, app messages and they ignore you 100% In Conclusion: Looking at the way these took place we believe they tricked us into a later moving in date....because after that day the guest cannot cancel or refund anymore...only the accomadation can do that at this stage...and they know that.... There are pleanty of simlar priced hostels in that area of Bkk, so do not take any risk here - Dont let them waste your holiday and take your money!!!!
Tara Place

Khaosan Road
Tara Place was a wonderful hotel to stay in for a few days in Bangkok. The entire hotel was clean, well-kept, and the staff was professional and courteous. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed, from a/c to a locking safe for valuables. There was a small window in our room with a nice view (we could see the top of Emerald Buddha Temple), and you could watch the sunrise from lovely shared balcony/terrace on the fourth floor. There are plenty of food options nearby the hotel, both restaurants and street food. Speaking of options nearby, Tara Place was easy to find and very centrally located for access to points of interest. We could walk to Khao San Road in minutes, and could have even walked to several temples with a bit of a longer trek. The hotel provides several free shuttle services daily, but we didn’t end up using them as we liked the walk. I have nothing but good things to say about this place!

The boss is very nice and enthusiastic. I watched the New Year's Eve fireworks in Bangkok City Walk and made a lot of friends. It's awesome. The sister is also great. She never lacks a smile on her face. The rooftop is a great place.
