Very nice boutique hotel with a great style.
They managed to create a village atmosphere with the cottages nested among rice fields, which really brings a much more personal touch.
Staff have been helpful and despite it was a little more pricey than some other places we have been, we really enjoyed our stay.

These cottages are on the rustic side but utterly charming. No air conditioning, but it's cooler at night there and they have nice comfortable mosquito-net beds. Each room has a different style and character. We had a big insect fly into one of our rooms (maybe a cicada?) and housekeeping came to the rescue right away. The views are wonderful, staff is extremely helpful, and the grounds are lovely. There are a variety of simple choices for breakfast. We had a drink at the sunset bar every day. And we had nice dinner choices with live music from a gamelan bamboo xylophone which was comfortable, casual, and very beautiful. They have many activities that you can participate in. We took a walk with an "intermediate English speaker" guide that was extremely interesting, much better than if we had walked the marked paths alone. He pointed out all kinds of fruits and spices growing; clove, nutmeg, vanilla, cinnamon, coffee, jackfruit, etc. He showed us how to climb a bamboo clove harvest ladder. Learned so much about that part of Bali and about the plants growing there. Would be a great place for a group. Excellent value, wonderful staff.

Nice, calm place in «the mountains», but located next to the main road and the village. Cottages was ok, but with no isolation - so we could hear every conversation in the next room, people outside and dogs barking all day (and night). Standard was ok, but with no aircondition and very, very poor wifi connection (though this was nor our first priority at a spa retreat). Lot of bugs and gekkos, so make sure not to have any food, sugar or drinks available in the room. «European standard» breakfast is ofcourse not Bali’s speciality, but we could get hold of eggs and toast. Restaurant was OK. Super lovely location, and offer of nice guided walks in the area and to the many waterfalls.

Basic necessities in cottage yet utterly magical. View is amazing, gardens are exquisite, sound of water, ponds with fish & lotus, rice terraces next door, beautiful staff, interesting & varied activities, yummy food and ethos of the business makes for a relaxing stay. I felt rejuvenated by the surrounding landscape - both man made & natural. Trainee, Murnie (sp?) was delightful & attentive, as were all staff. Loved my stay here. (Found it funny that toilet paper roll was wrapped in plastic when everywhere else I've been has had paper. Obviously the paper wld fit better with the values & ethos of business).

-8.263750, 115.058843 This resort, proudly visited by David Bowie and his wife Iman as recently as 1996, stretches over the hilltop of Munduk. With many levels, the layout is unclear, but the reception and restaurants are on the east side near Jalan Katu Putih Road. The noise from this road can be easily heard throughout the resort. This resort caters mainly to tour groups. Balinese dancing is performed every evening. Massage is available. In September 2023, walking among the beautiful green rice fields from the reception to our villa 41 was a delight. The room looks very authentic with beautiful carvings. The view from the veranda is west-facing, but the sunset is obscured by trees. The sunset bar (not an original name) came to the rescue, but clouds again obscured the sunset. The room has a double bed with mosquito net and mosquito coil. No air conditioning on this 800-metre hilltop. The shower was hot. Continental and Indonesian breakfast is served in the restaurant. Most guests have lunch and dinner at the resort. Puri Lumbuk Cottages offers a local stay. Recommended.

From the welcome drink to our departure gift the people here were so wonderful. They will help you in anyway possible from arranging a motorbike rental to supplying an extension cord with transformers for US style plugs. The grounds are sprawling across a large tracts of mountain side, with beautiful views, down to the ocean and across the mountains. There are rice fields and lovely fauna and many trails to explore. Our standard cottage was two-story unit with netted queen bed upstairs , a nice balcony overlooking a rice field , no fan and no AC , but the temperature in the mountains is very comfortable. Bed was firm. Downstairs was the bath and and sink open shower, on demand hot water . It’s cozy , clean and functional. Their breakfast was quite inclusive. There was a made to order egg station along with an assortment of Balinese and western foods, toast, pancakes noodles etc fresh fruit, coffee, and tea, of course. The junior menu was also quite varied, serving everything from meats to vegetarian to pizzas call with appetizers desserts they even have an outdoor bar out overlooking a Sunset viewing point , as well as a celebrity bar inside the main area. It gets very dark there, so without a car it’s not very advisable to be walking on the dark mountain roads after six , if you’re looking for food elsewhere . You’ll do just fine here. They are family friendly too and this is an excellent choice for a couple nights visiting the area.

My husband and I spend a couple of nights at this awesome place in January, 2023. It is in a spectacular setting on a ridge, with views to the Bali Sea, looking over lush jungle, rice paddies, and villages. It is a very peaceful place, with flowers everywhere. The food served on site was delicious, and the staff friendly and attentive. Make sure that you make time for a massage!!

My wife and I visited lumbung cottages on our honeymoon for two nights. We arrived to a lovely decorated room with gifts too. Such a thoughtful touch, as well as the most stunning views from our room (no21). We ate at the restaurant that had some great traditional Balinese food on offer and was very tasty. All the staff were lovely and really helpful if you needed anything. We went on one of the waterfall treks from the cottages and we took a guide which is offered at the cottages. Our guide was named Bawa and although he was down as an intermediate English speaker he was able to converse perfectly and pointed out all the different Plantations on the way to the waterfalls. Would highly recommend. This was a tough hike but totally worth it. On checking out, we were both given another gift which again was a lovely touch. We wont spoil the surprise to what this was. An incredible 2 nights spent just surrounded by mountains and nature. (Don’t forget you mosquito repellent!). Highly recommend a visit to experience the natural Balinese culture with to die for views.
