Aashaya Jasri Resort

Resort is located near the beach, far from tourist destination. There was a dirty local beach with black sand. It was a challenge to find Gojek to go anywhere. No bikes rental around, except for the bikes provided by the resort. At 4:30 AM we were awaken by calling for pray and the next night was full of loud sounds of motorbikes, riding around, and songs. Very noisy. Facilities were OK, although some geckos were living near the bathroom.

Aashaya Jasri Resort, Pantai Jasri, Subagan, East Bali. It was indeed a pleasure to return here for dinner after such a long time and see the staff are still here and to see some interesting plans for the future by the new owners some of which already under way. They ie Rodney, Craig and Felton were most friendly and informative and so happy to see us expat locals. The food tonight from entrees of Perkedels to Fresh Marlin with Rice and Mie Goreng were cooked perfectly and served quickly and efficiently. The taste was most enjoyable. Wayan on tables and Nengah in the kitchen were two of the original staff on duty and their ability to prepare and please has not changed. We wish the new owners well in their endeavours and intentions to blend in with the appeal only Jasri has. Serene with a true touch of tradition that the old Bali is famous for. See you again for sure and thank you for your interests in some of the programmes re Rubbish 4 Rice and helping the less fortunate that exist with many locals & expats alike in this community we all love so much.

We absolutely loved our stay here. We were in the room at the very front - so when you opened your door up the beach was just out the front with a beautiful sea breeze. The pool was fabulous ! Staff were lovely, great breakfast and we had a couple of meals in and they were very good too. We totally relaxed and recharged here. Beautiful spot and would certainly stay again. Such a short stroll to wander to the beach. It is a quiet place but that is exactly what we were after !

Aashaya Jasri Resort was an absolute delight from start to finish of our three week holiday.: The boutique accommodation was typically Balinese, set in beautiful gardens with frangipani trees, bougainvillea, palms and other lush vegetation. The place exudes serenity, and at night you can just hear the crashing of the waves on the shore. Our twin room was clean and attractive, with all the essential facilities - fan, fridge, safe, aircon, clothes hanging area - including a decent sized bathroom with a large shower (plenty of hot water), and fresh towels every day. The staff were exceptional: friendly and discreet in equal measure, they simply couldn’t do enough for you – and always with a smile. The manager Wayan had a lovely, gentle manner and was particularly helpful, with information on the region and local customs etc. but Kartun, Elo and all the other staff were lovely too without exception. As with the gardens, the pool was well maintained, staff quietly going about their business. Coming from UK, I really enjoyed my daily swims in warm water and lounging by the pool, reading and listening to birdsong. The sea was a bit too wild, and the rocks and black sands due to Mt Agung, the volcano 25km away, wouldn’t have made it as appealing anyway, but 10 minute’s taxi ride away there is a white sand beach (Virgin beach) with clear blue waters. We didn’t want to escape the tranquility much but although Jasri isn’t an area you’d find much in the guide books for Bali, it was easy and inexpensive to get taxis to beautiful Central Bali and the arty but busy town of Ubud, or a ferry to Nusa Penida Island. We ate in the covered open air restaurant most of the time as the food was delicious (including wine and cocktails!). There are also other places to eat nearby, and a pleasant bar called Warung Biker, but if R&R is your main objective and a wonderfully friendly community, rather than seeking lots of activity, you honestly couldn’t do much better than this resort.

This place truly is a piece of Balinese paradise. It’s a two hour drive from Canggu and a whole World apart. The resort is very Balinese in design and decor. The wonderful staff are Balinese. I arrived feeling exhausted and left after three days feeling totally rejuvenated just from being there and soaking up the ambiance, it’s a one minute walk to the ocean so lots of lovely breezes to keep you cool.I can’t recommend this enough for anyone needing a taste of true Bali. Aashaya Jasri will not disappoint.

Beautiful authentic Balinese resort hotel, the setting is perfect, you can hear the ocean from bed! The staff are so lovely, attentive and nothing is a problem! Beds comfy with crisp white linen, luxurious sun lounges in a stunning garden.
