I'm trying to work out the target customers for this hotel due to its location. It's out of the town (Santa Pola), situated next to the N-332 (busy north-south coast road), and on the edge of a retail park. As a result it has no room for facilities (outdoor pool, tennis courts, etc.) although it's new so everything is up to date. Rooms have a large balcony which I guess would be nice in summer. That's about it. Even the bar is a solitary tap in the hotel lobby - no separate area. Breakfast was standard but no complaints. The retail park has various eating and drinking places - KFC, Burger King, other burger places, various bars - but I didn't find a real Spanish one. Quite a lot were closed as it was out of season. For those familiar with the UK I thought it was very like a Premier Inn or Travelodge and a 4* rating is misleading. I'm thinking it's really an airport hotel so not for a long stay.

The hotel is about 13 euros from the lively neighborhood of the seaside. If you are departing from the hotel, you need to ask the front desk to help you call the car. The cost of attaching the car is about 5 euros. Breakfast 12 euros / person, not much things, still exquisite. Underground parking is available for a fee, and on-street parking is free. The hotel has a good internal environment with 2 swimming pools. Two-bedroom house, one with a bathroom, and two chairs for relaxation on the outdoor balcony.

Yes, a total of five rooms were set, one of which was free for an extra bed for the little ones. There is an additional charge for parking, and there is a very small swimming pool on the roof. The foreigner is watching the sun very seriously.

This is an excellent hotel choice. It is modern, spacious, and comfortable hotel. The rooms are very nice, with well sized balcony, the beds are comfortable, and the modern bathroom is functional, bright, with plenty of towels and nice hot water. The staff are efficient, approachable and helpful. The cafe seating area is outside road side, which is very great for to relax and just let the world pass by. The pool is excellent, with lovely decking. There's lots of eateries nearby, and the beautiful beach is just a short walk. The tram line is right outside. For the price you pay I doubt you can do better.

Comfy bed, good breakfast, nice golf course. The big let down which down graded my rating from very good to average was due to the attitude of the security man on the night of Sunday 24th March We had brought a round of drinks and sat down to enjoy them when he came up to us and said that we had to leave as the bar closes at midnight. His attitude and manner was rude unprofessional and this put a sour taste in our mouths. If he had explained that the bar was closing and would we mind moving over to the seats in the reception area to finish our drinks we would have gladly complied. He did the same to a couple at a table next to us who were also annoyed at his attitude. Some training definitely needed here.

We have just returned from this accommodation and could not fault it. We arrived at the airport and got on the C6 bus which dropped us off about 200 yards from this hotel. We were on the 30th floor so not good if you like heights but view amazing. Appartment excellent, really spacious. It seemed it had recently been refurbished. There were only two of us but it would have slept four people. Large bathroom containing towels, toothbrushes, toothpaste and shower gel on arrival. The kitchen also contained washing up liquid and cleaners. Maid service every day with clean towels. Continental breakfast included. Five minute walk to the beach. Would recommend this appartment. Alicante is lovely too.

GGuest UserWhat an amazing find! This self-contained apartment was a perfect home base while we traveled the coast of spain. The apartment was very well appointed. It was furnished with dishes, towels, fridge, cooktop, microwave and toiletries and cleaning supplies. It is a secure building and you have to walk about a block over to check in. Super easy. Elevator was ”large” by spain standards. Bed was comfortable and although in the middle of everything, once the doors were closed you didn't hear a thing! Being here in winter months the AC was off but we slept with the bedroom window open to a nice breeze. Our friends, who live in Alicante, were very impressed and plan to rent for their visiting family.

LLynnDal14We regularly travel to Alicante on our way to our holiday home in Almeria and thought that on this occasion we would break up the joirney with a few days in Alicante. We had a 2 night stay at Melia Hotel Alicante from 28th to 30th January which was a Christmas present from our sons. We were booked on to The Level which had been recommended to us as it is for adults only and as we had had a very stressful time in the past few months, we were very much looking forward to the peace and relaxation. However, when we arrived at the hotel we were told that The Level was actually closed because there was work being carried out. We were told we were still in a room on The Level and had in fact been upgraded to a better room but all the other amenities were closed, ie the drinks and snacks that are available all day and the breakfast room which is separate from the main hotel and therefore a lot quieter. We were told that we could still get the snacks and drinks from the bar in the hotel foyer and were given a wrist band to wear so the bar staff would know. Some of the staff didn’t seem to be very aware as to what we were entitled too but mainly the staff were very good. Although we had been upgraded to a better room, the experience was completely spoiled by workmen who started work at 8am and were using drills and jackhammers!! This work went on until early evening so we had to stay out of the room for most of the day and we’re not able to use the leisure facilities/private lounge. We looked on the hotel website whilst we were there and other sites selling rooms at the hotel and they were and still are selling rooms on The Level with no mention of it being closed. We did receive an email a week or so before saying that work was being carried out to refurbish the hotel but it was more than that, parts were practically being demolished!!!! There was also no mention that The Level was completely closed. We were extremely disappointed as it had come highly recommend to us!! We have given the hotel an average rating as we did not have the experience we had expected and paid for!

GGuest UserThis is the 2nd time I’ve used this hotel, it’s ideal from the train station- literally across the road.
Especially when coming off a lengthy train ride with a child so we could catch an early morning flight from Alicante Airport.
Clean check in area and very friendly staff , helpful regarding public transport and there are free tea & coffee making facilities in the lobby in the evening .
The rooms are adequate with aircon if needed in the summer.
Clean bathroom and toilet with plenty of towels and toiletries , this is not a holiday hotel but for 1 night stays especially for the airport as the bus stop is just over the road.
As a woman travelling on her own and another occasion with s young child I have felt perfectly safe.

GGuest UserThe Melia Alicante is a beautiful hotel positioned in between the beach and harbour and an ideal location from which to explore Alicante. The rooms are well appointed and we went for harbour views which were lovely. Buffet style breakfasts were excellent, and although the pool is not huge, it never felt packed during our visit. We were generally ably to find a couple of loungers in the sun ( my husband is content reading his book in the shade). The staff were very polite and helpful and we enjoyed a drink or two in the light and airy bar where we played cards after a meal in the old town. Nicer beaches to that immediately adjacent to the hotel can be found further along the coast which is easy via tram. Views from The Castle are amazing. This was an expensive hotel, but felt classy and was what I had hoped it would be.

GGuest UserWe were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. We didn't want to stay in the centre of Alicante but wanted to be close to the beach. San Juan beach is across the road/tram tracks and there are a few beach restaurants/bars along the beach strip. These restaurants mainly serve Mediterranean cuisine and seafood, and we ate at Casa Domingo which was great. There are also bars and restaurants a few streets away from the hotel among the residential area. We spotted some sports bars, burger places and pizza places around that area. The hotel grounds are lovely with a nice garden and pool area. There is also a pool bar and music playing while you lounge beside the pool. The hotel had outdoor bar and restaurant seating areas which was lovely at night and for breakfast in the morning. We ate tapas in the restaurant a few nights and enjoyed the food. The breakfast selection was really good, a mix of hot and cold foods, breads, fruits etc and I enjoyed the lovely cold Spanish omelette slice every morning!! There is a Consum supermercado about a 5 minute walk from the hotel, and a pharmacy too. The supermarket is quite big and has everything you need. Our room faced out the front of the hotel and we had a pool view as the pool is across from the front entrance to the hotel. The balcony was nice and clean and we could dry our towels on the railing. The room was nice, clean and modern and the air conditioning was amazing during the 30+ degree heat. There's a fridge and a kettle so it was handy to keep some drinks chilled. Our only quibble was the shower was missing a door so it was impossible not to get the floor wet, even with the floor towel. It's not a big issue but the hotel should really have a shower door to avoid unnecessary damage to their flooring. The reception staff were really nice, as were the restaurant and bar staff. The tram stop to get to Alicante city centre is about 5 minutes away from the hotel. You can pay on the tram by card and can select English on the machine. It's about 2.90euro to travel to the city centre and takes about 15 mins. It was a really nice location if you want to spend time by the lovely San Juan beach or by the pool. If you do want more action at night, the tram will bring you to the city and taxis are reasonably priced. I would definitely stay here again!

GGuest UserI spent 5 nights here in the beginning of January 2023. For people with healthy legs, the hotel is a walking distance away from the Alicante city centre. The location is a little bit hidden down a hill; be prepared to go down and up some stairs during your stay. Otherwise the location was not that awkward in my opinion as some people have commented. Lovely sea views, the sunrises and sunsets were amazing. Very importantly, don't trust Google Maps GPS too much when you approach the hotel from the city centre via the avenue Villajoyosa! At least for me Maps placed the hotel somewhere inside the big mountain nearby, which was obviously incorrect. So if Maps does the same to you, keep walking, there will be hotel signs further the Villajoyosa avenue. The hotel was pretty good for a 3 star hotel, a tad luxurious even. It had everything needed. Gym, tennis court, pool (not open in the Winter months), restaurant, 24 h reception. Very helpful staff and good cleaning. No coffee/tea making facilities or a fridge inside the rooms, but you can request them for free from the reception. Breakfast was okay, nothing special, loved the views in the cafeteria though! There were some issues with my room, but the staff promptly took action and changed my room from a standard to a superior one. The standard room was a bit chilly, and in the superior room you could hear people's conversations in other rooms. But no biggie, I could sleep just fine. All in all, it was a very good stay for a 3 star hotel! I didn't expect too much and was pleasantly surprised.

EEVA OLIVIAThe room is good and there is a balcony with a nice view. It’s a lot to eat when you go out nearby, but be careful with the bunch of restaurants that lie to tourists. There is a small supermarket in the next street. It is a daily necessities for Chinese people to buy. The service is very slow and slow, although it seems to be an effort (?) but it really needs to be improved. And the elevator is the most troublesome thing I remember. I have to wait a long time. Once I waited, I would like to climb the stairs to climb a dozen layers.....
