It is a very comfortable B&B, about 8-10 minutes walk from the pier, but it is very quiet and clean, and the network is very good. The owner has a few cats. Overall, this is a cheap hotel with middle price range. Rooms rate are between MYR60 to MYR150 per night. No elevator here. You will have to go up by using stairs. For youngsters that is ok but for seniors and old people it will be a little bit hard and and uncomfortable for them especially for senior age people with knee pain and back pain. Reception desk is at ground floor next to the main entrance. Location of this hotel is strategic because it is only 2-4 minutes walk to nearby night market. The Lahad Datu Post Office is next to the hotel building then the market is next to the Lahad Datu Post Office. If you drive a car you can park your car overnight at Post Office parking area which is free. This hotel is located in busy road.

The boss is super super nice, I regretted that I booked for two nights, because I watched the netizen said that there was no hot water bath, no air conditioning. But there are really, I must clarify for the boss 😃 The environment is really good, very quiet, it is not an alarm clock that wakes me up every morning, but 🐵 monkey, very original, luck is not bad, saw the monkey, in the evening, walking downstairs is very cool and comfortable, when leaving, drop things in the hotel. The boss sent it again the next day, thank you very much. The boss's Chinese is also very good, there are also two free deliveries to the town a day, so the distance is really not a problem. I didn’t really stay at this hotel but paid a visit when I was in town. The staff there were very friendly and showed me a couple of rooms as I requested. It is definitely in better condition than the Inn2 I stayed in. It is the newest among the three Sipadan Inns, at a better location, especially if you go to Mabul with Scuba Junkie, very close to their office and their jetty. Thought to let travelers know as I didn’t see any comment when booking hotels in Semporna. It is a tiny seafront town, everything close by but those narrow, car-lined streets are not that easy to walk through if you carry luggage on a hot day.

The shower heater doesn't work and I have to shower in cold water. The shower stall area smell of urine. The whole room smells musty. The toilet seat is dirty. The walls in the whole room and the toilet are stained and doesn't appear to be wiped. The only redeeming quality about this hovel is the exemplary staff-they are helpful and obliging. The owner of this hovel ought to be shot. I can't wait to get out of this place tomorrow early morning.

Upon arrival at the airport, things just went downhill. My wife had booked a ride from Ocean Inn from the airport to their hotel prior to our arrival. Our ride never showed up even after my wife confirmed with the hotel staff. Called them and not one response after several calls. Great way to confirm everything and then leave your customers high and dry. We ended getting our own ride. Ocean Inn hotel is situated in a what I would consider a more or less slum area. I saw multiple locals finish their drinks and then tossed their trash over into the sea when there’s garbage cans just a few feet from them. There’s a lot of garbage sunken and floating in the water everywhere. Countless rats scurrying on the ground and roofs in broad daylight. The area reeks of sewage. When we checked in, the gal in the front didn’t like her job. No greetings. No smiles. No friendly service. Not sure if it’s a cultural thing that I’m misunderstanding. I felt like she didn’t want to help us. Never did. The entrance of the front desk had an overwhelming smell of mothball. In our room, my wife found strands of hair between the sheets and blanket. The room smelled mildewy. The restroom smelled like a heavily used public restroom. The shower pressure trickled. I just don’t know how some of these reviewers gave this place a 3-5 stars. Absolutely baffled!!! Overall, there’s little nice things to say about Ocean Inn except that the AC works well. I’ll let you readers run wild with your own imagination that I’m painting. I would never come back here again. Thank goodness it was just for one night stay.
