Not only this hotel is a historic building, but each room has got its own character, the staff is extremely friendly and professional. To access the hotel by car can be very tricky and difficult, depending on the car size, as streets are very small. We tried the surprise 9 course Michelin menu at the restaurant. It was an interesting experience, but 9 course is only for very hungry people. Also unclear, who is the Michelin Star Chef? Overall a very pleasant stay and perfect location to explore the town.

Not the best experience for us. The room was small , had two small pillows and 1 bath towel and one hand towel for two guests. The resption was very good and further pillows were promised . Fast forward an hour , change of staff , no pillows now available , they are full ! Certainly did not seem so. Addityional towels the following day were no issue. The pool was nice , though not heated , the evening meal was good as was the service. Breakfast also was good and plentiful. However important detail not mentioned when we booked , or advertised in hotel was that the restaurant was closed on the Sunday night. Food of sorts was available. Shame it could have scored a lot better

It is hard to use for meals because there is a trash collection box below the terrace (outside the hotel area). The inn with the kitchen in Avignon seems to have a regular shape, such as tableware and water fields, and it is comfortable everywhere. It was clean and nice here. It was a blind spot that I didn't leave my luggage after checking out. Be careful because the receptionist is not open outside the time.

The staff is very friendly, very welcome, warm and to listen. The rooms are sympathetic, the bed is very comfortable but the bathroom is a little small and the water of the shower and the couch are not very well adjusted (low pressure, very hot/cold water disturbance for the shower, The TV is very convenient in the room, but the wifi network does not necessarily work well (it takes time to load little used personally because it was very much...). Sehr charmantes Hotel mit freundlichem Empfang. Liegt ruhig aber trotzdem sehr günstig innerhalb der Stadtmauer. Punkteabzug gibt es zum einen für die Dusche. Die ist wirklich sehr klein und man bleibt ständig an der Armatur hängen und macht das Wasser an/aus, kalt oder heiß - je nach dem. Außerdem war der Duschgel-Spender leer - es waren dafür kleine Tütchen mit Duschgel vorhanden. Auch sonst ist das Badezimmer sehr klein. Weiterer Punktabzug beim Frühstück. Der Kaffee hatte zwar eine schwarze Farbe aber keinen Geschmack. Das war praktisch heißes Wasser. Und das Brot/Baguette war teigig und nicht richtig gebacken. Croissant war dagegen gut. Für manche ein Pluspunkt, für andere geht es gar nicht: es hat Katzen im Hotel

The location is very good. It is only five minutes from the station. It is very convenient to take the train to and from the surrounding area. The front desk staff are very enthusiastic. The hotel design is also very distinctive. It was remodeled in a castle-like building, especially the few in the courtyard. The huge sycamore tree is particularly moving. The restaurant is right on the edge of the yard. It is very enjoyable to sit and eat a rich and good-quality breakfast. In short, it is a very cost-effective hotel and it is recommended!

Stayed here for 5 nights whilst visiting the area so had plenty of opportunity to assess its merits and overall I would give it a four out of five. Initially I was a bit doubtful as it seemed rather soulless but its one of those hotels that grows on you the longer you stay and we really enjoyed our time there. It's fairly small for a Best Western and situated in a commercial/industrial area to the south of Avignon and beyond what most people would consider to be a walkable distance so you need a car or you can make use of the local bus service that stops close to the hotel. Our room was clean and comfortable and had a small balcony overlooking the pool and garden which was all well-kept and pleasant to use. We also ate in the restaurant on 3 evenings and enjoyed the food but the menu is very limited with only four starter and main course options so not perfect for everyone. The big plus for the hotel was the quality of its staff who all seemed to be bi-lingual, enthusiastic and engaging, particularly Fabiola who was wonderful. If I was visiting the Avignon area again I would happily book BW Le Lavarin.

My wife and I and another couple had two rooms here in mid-September. The hotel and rooms are decorated with architectural elements and remnants of a former monastery. We were able to beat the Provence heat with the room's AC unit. Rooms have a small, but functional kitchenette of sorts tucked into an armoire. Rooms are quiet and surround a pleasant courtyard. Patrick was an excellent and helpful host. He was especially helpful in getting a taxi for the four of us to the TGV station at an obscene hour of the morning. The night before, I asked for the name and number of the driver in case there were issues. Patrick said, ”If there is a problem, call me and I will take care of it. I don't care if it is 6 in the morning!” This was a good choice for our three nights in Avignon. It is fairly close to the Palace of the Popes and other attractions. We also got good advice from Patrick for a nearby laundromat.
