It’s probably the third time we’ve been to this campsite. Pitches are sometimes a bit shady but you can always ask for another, staff are usually very helpful. But I think we got the one who’d been trained in bad manners!! I asked if we could have the site we’d had last year but was told who do you think you are you’ll get what I give you. Anyway my husband went in saw another member of staff who was very pleasant and obliging. It is a bit dated but it’s a good place to stay.

Absolutely avoid this campsite. They do not operate the same sliding scale cancellation policy as most other campsites in France. Tried to cancel a short stay booking 2 months in advance but cancellations dealt with by insurance partner and buried deep in terms and conditions. Difficult to deal with and no sense of customer service.

My wife and I arrived at the Avignon campsite on 14th May 2024 when it was run/owned by Aquadis-Loisers, not, I believe, Terracamps. It is worth reading again my long complaint (for which I received no reply) against Aquadis. In a nutshell, I was asked to pay fully on arrival (using an ACSI card...???); was taken ill and had to leave the next morning with my wife driving but was refused a refund. Whether I ever would return to this campsite would depend on my reading other reviews and specifically asking Terracamps, if in the circumstances, I would have received a refund from them. Other than this issue, the site is in a good position to walk into Avignon and we have stayed here in the past, for that very reason. One thing any caravan/motorhome arrivals should take into consideration, is the very difficult 100mm+ curbs it is necessary to negotiate to get on to most pitches. As for the facilities, there is nothing special, only its close proximity to Avignon, along a pleasant river walk and over the road bridge. it is worth mentioning that there is a closer campsite along the river towards the bridge and also a motorhome stopover, adjacent to this campsite.

The maximum travelling time till 22:00 on the campsite by car is for me to early. So, I have to leave my car many times on the unguarded parking place outside the campground.

My wife and I arrived at the Avignon campsite on 14th May 2024 with our motorhome, where we decided that we would stay 4 nights with our ACSI card. I was asked to pay the 4 nights in advance, which I reluctantly did, even though this was the first time I have been asked to pay in advance during the low season. Unfortunately, both my wife and I were poorly the next day and it affected me quite badly. We were due to travel to Vienna from this site but decided, because of my ill health to travel home and did so directly to the shuttle. On informing the office of our early departure, we were told that they could not refund us from the site and we would need to contact head office, who would be able to help. On our return home we contacted the head office, only to be told that refunds were not given but they would give us a token which we could use during the year. Little chance of that ever happening, you say...!!! I think that this attitude is very poor, not only reducing the value of the ACSI card in low season by insisting on prepayment but then refusing to refund when asked to do so. I think that it should be made clear from the outset that payment is required upfront, not at end of stay and that refunds are not given. What ever happened to trust and good will. The whole philosophy and freedom of low season ACSI travel would it seems, be destroyed by Aquadis-loisers by taking this attitude

We had booked a mobile home here for a 2 nights stay on our journey from UK home to Spain. We were aware of the fact we were responsible for cleaning the place when we left and to provide our own towels, bedding and cleaning products. Check in was very professional and after a long 9 hours on the road exactly what we wanted….. There is a big but…….. On entering our accommodation what a shock….it clearly had not been cleaned. Somebody’s bedding was on the bed in a heap. The quilts were dirty and smelly. The floors were dirty. The kitchen surfaces hadn’t been cleaned. The shower and sink were dirty. There was rubbish left on the outside terrace. I could go on! All we wanted to do was make our beds and relax and go for dinner. Reception were more than apologetic and offered to send the cleaners in, but by this time I thought it quicker and better to do it myself. The manager turned up to check and was horrified. The cleaners came and offered help. All we wanted now was to be left alone. We went to the restaurant for dinner. By this time did we really want to eat or not! In getting back to the accommodation we had no electricity so back to the night watchman who arranged someone to help. In the morning …… and by this time we had decided we would not stay our 2nd night …..the electric had gone again. We loaded the car and said goodbye at reception. We were refunded our €250 security deposit (for cleaning if needed!) Also not charged for any electricity used. Apologies again from the manager, but by then too late. Also the evening before the manager gave an offer of a free meal in the restaurant. We didn’t take this offer. We felt the site was very run down and untidy in general, all areas needed work, restaurant seating, pool area and grounds. It could all be so much better. Thank you reception staff for trying so hard to make it better for us.

We were very happy with this well-located, shady and clean campsite. We liked the bicycle rental arrangements and the swimming pool, and the staff in reception were super-helpful. We will be happy to revisit when we come to Avignon again.
