Holiday Inn Ashford - Central

The Holiday Inn staff are always smiling and every time they pass by the reception they are greeted warmly and feel like home. The hotel provides a buffet breakfast. There are not too many kinds of food, but it is good for us. Maria, the waiter in the restaurant, will say hello to each guest every day. During the conversation, we also deepened our understanding of the local culture. Other employees will be very busy in the restaurant and do everything. Sometimes there is a shortage of staff, and the chef will personally deliver hot food to the restaurant front desk, so that the guests can enjoy the rich as soon as possible. breakfast. All in all, I am very satisfied with the Holiday Inn Ashford.

So quirky, all the rooms have different themes. Ours was Honeychild and has the bath in the bedroom with a milk churn fitted with the taps, separate loo which was a bit dark but again quirky. Over the bed there was a head of a cow made out of fibreglass. It was so good. The armchair was tatty in a perfectly fitting way and so comfy. The bed was so comfy and the pillows gorgeous. They provide a coffee machine, kettle and pods for the machine, hot chocolate and tea and there was an honesty box on the landing outside for extras. Milk and bottled water was available in the fridge of the landing. Plus there was a little decanter with some wonderful sloe gin in, a lovely touch. The only things that weren't quite right for me were the fact that the hairdryer couldn't be plugged in near the mirror (the mirror near the fireplace was a bit high for me as I'm only 5ft 4”). The steps up to the rooms are very twisty and if you have any mobility issues it can be very difficult to get up and down. The food, we had lunch and dinner on the first day and breakfast the next, was really good and locally produced. The staff were so lovely and friendly on all shifts. We would go back if in the area, especially for the food and the views of the church and the fields. There is also free parking which is great. I would recommend anyone if in the area to give it a try (and they are dog friendly :) ). Thank you to all the staff for a lovely stay.

We have just left from a 2 night stay for a wedding in the area. We were so so impressed by everything at the hotel. The rooms are large and fitted with everything you would possibly need. LOVE the mini SMEG fridge and huge mirror in each room. We slept so well, everything was very quiet and we couldn’t hear any noise from the room. Plugs are by the side of the bed and the beds and bedding were super comfy. The breakfast was delicious and included with the stay, there was even a waffle machine! Staff were super friendly and said hello at breakfast. Thank you very much we would definitely 100% recommend

Stayed 3 nights, hosted by friendly hosts, Sarah & Tony. Clean room, comfy beds, TV, kettle etc, towels in the room. Rooms have been nicely renovated since some old photos seen online. Orange juice/tea/coffee served with a yummy full English breakfast. The B&B is a few seconds walk to the train station opposite, Chilham train station. You can then get a short train ride into Canterbury to save on parking/have a drink. Thank you for an enjoyable stay!

We've not been overly impressed with any of the IHG brands we've stayed with since the pandemic, but this hotel was up to pre-Covid standards, and very good value for money. We stayed for one night -- the room was quiet, the bed was comfortable and although the breakfast was unexciting, it was more than adequate. The bathroom seemed old-fashioned, but the water pressure was good and the towels were large. Earlier this year we stayed at the Crowne Plaza at Place de Republic in Paris and this was such a better experience on so many levels. All the staff were SO friendly. Our room was on the first floor with a short flight of stairs and the woman tending the bar insisted on carrying our bags to our rooms. I can't remember the last time that happened -- even at much more expensive hotels. In the morning there weren't any scrambled eggs and the woman looked after the buffet said it wasn't a problem and got some cooked for me. The only downside is that the hotel is very isolated -- the neighbouring pub is closed. That wasn't a problem for us as we had eaten with friends before checking in and were only staying for one night, but if you want any nightlife you will have to drive.
