This 5-star hôtel is quite new so they are still putting the finishing touches on the private garden going down to the beaches. The service and the food, the swimming pools and amenities are already on par with other 5-star I've been to. A lot of the food is local (avocados, salads, fruits, fish) and is soooo good. The views are stunning from the rooms, the swimming pools, the Sea Sky outside lounge and the Paper Moon restaurant... Overall what I like the most is the feel of being surrounded by nature with the hotel's garden, greenery everywhere and the relatively small height of the buildings... Thank you to the staff for this memorable week in December, sun everyday and temperature around 20° during the day...

To say this place was awful is all I can do after my personal experience there recently, I certainly would never book to stay there again or recommend it. I booked a double room in their Guest House part of the complex. * The Reception is only open certain hours. You are supposed to be able to contact them outside those hours but I had to call them a couple of times and got no answer or help. It’s really impersonal and there’s no one around when you need them. * There is no facility to make hot drinks in your room. There was a bottle of water. You have to go to the breakfast room where a vending machine serves terrible quality drinks. You don’t want to have to walk around the hotel first thing in the morning to get hot drinks. *Room 521 was right by the door into reception and was noisy all night with people banging through into the corridor to get to their rooms. * The space immediately outside of the double windows in my room opened out on to the terrace for people sitting having breakfast. This was horrible and gave no privacy into the room at all. Thankfully it was raining but had it been sunny I would have had people sitting right up by my only window in the room. * They have waterproof mattress protectors on the bed which made it feel like you were sleeping wrapped in tin foil it was so hot and it crackled loudly every time you moved. * Pillows were either absolutely enormous and too big to put your head on or so flat and small they were useless. * No bathmat provided for the floor while showering, bit of a safety concern and I had to use a pool towel. No where to hang towels in the bathroom when you’ve used them…it was all just lacking in thought. * No waste bin in the bedroom * Horrid yellow lights in the room * It’s very dark and depressing inside. * Bright light over the door to highlight where the door was in the night but it lit the room up through the night making it hard to ignore and sleep. * Breakfast is only available from 8.30am which is very late. It was poor, stale bread and dirty jars with cereal in with a very poor selection of foods. Overall this was poor quality, grim and depressing and absolutely not worth the cost.

We arrived around 2, we had been aware check in would not be until 4, but as we would be leaving early on departure day, they invited us to have lunch and stored our luggage. They told us to come back for around 3 to collect our all inclusive wrist bands, when we returned we noticed that our luggage had been taken out of storage, we pointed this out and asked if room was ready. Reception staff then proceeded to have an argument in Portuguese with each other, which was pretty rude, I would have expected more discretion with their argument, not a great first impression. When the room was officially ready, the Porter was lovely and friendly and helped us with luggage and talked through how the air con worked etc, which worked perfectly during our time there. We stayed in a one bedroom suite with a stunning sea view, on the second floor, which also overlooked one of the three pools. Massive rooms, with plenty of storage, the lounge was made up with two single beds for the kids (9&11) comfortable, still plenty of room for a table with four chairs and two decent sized arm chairs. TV on wall and decent sized fridge with ice box. Fresh bottled water supplied daily. Main bedroom; bed huge and super comfy, off bedroom was a decent sized bathroom, twin sinks. The only issue here was that it was a little dark at shower area and the shower gel and soap ran out half way through holiday. Two decent balconies one off lounge and other off bedroom. Separate shower room with toilet was a little small but functional. Housekeeping came each day but it was a little hit and miss, floor was not cleaned each day, grit was left on a floor for a couple of days. Bathrooms could have been cleaned better. Dirty glasses not taken away for days. Bedding was changed if you left a card on bed. We could have complained but we just wanted to get out to the pool! Pool areas really great, one mainly for adults, as quite deep, toddler pool, and children’s pool which wasn’t too deep, when you check in you are given cards to swap for beach towels. Plenty of sun loungers, we found a couple broken but still plenty for everyone, we never had an issue. Pool guy who swapped the towels was friendly. There was also a pool bar, staff also lovely and friendly and hot snacks alongside salads, cakes etc available around 3pm. There are a few snacks before 3 too. You can take snacks back to loungers if wrapped in a napkin or if you prefer you can sit at snack areas, plenty of seats. Drinks poured generously for adults and for kids, there are slushies and ice cream. My daughter (9) loved kids club, staff super friendly and encouraged everyone to get involved but not overall so. Water polo once a day turned out to be very competitive with adults and children playing again each other. All good fun! Breakfast was lovely, great selection for everyone. Again the one wee thing was that fruit juice was obviously watered down on our second day before that it was lovely. W

Just coming to the end of a 10 day stay, what a fabulous find. It was a last minute booking for my daughter and myself and our stay has been blissful. We have stayed in a beautiful modern 1 bedroom apartment which was spotlessly ckean. Kitchen is well equipped although strangely odd little things like a bottle opener were missing. I'm sure if we had asked a reception it would have been provided but we just picked one up in the supermarket . The bed is absolutely huge and very comfortable with plenty of storage in wardrobes for clothes. Bathroon modern with lovely walk in shower. Garden and Pool area are quite and even at the end of July you can easily get sun loungers late into the afternoon. The pool looks odd in the photo's but this is because the tiles are brown/ grey but it is beautiful and clean. Beach is a 5-10 minute walk away. If you want nightlife it is not the place for you and I would recommend getting a hire car if you want to explore the area but if you are happy with half a dozen or so beautiful quite restaurants within a 5 minute walk, peaceful pool area and beautiful garden views you won't find anywhere better. Would definitely come back.

Great return flight on Jet2. Flight arrived at Faro airport around 09.30 a.m. and we were directed to a coach for the hotel; with 2 other couples, we were the last passengers off the bus at our hotel at 12.20 p.m. (a journey almost 3 hours. in a taxi it takes 45 mins). When we presented ourselves at reception we were told that the rooms were not ready, and would not be available till 3.00p.m. ????This hotel has 111 rooms + 10 suites ?????? We (all three couples) were pensioners, and had been up since 04.00 that morning for our 06.45 flight from Newcastle. We were tired and I simply did not believe what the young lady on reception told us. We were not offered any refreshment. When we returned to reception at 3 p.m., I asked the same young lady if she had any rooms available. She laughed and said ”No”. I did not smile or laugh. After such callous & unkind treatment, I vowed to find as many ways I could not to put any of our money into this hotel. There are no kettles or any way of making tea/coffee in the room, which was otherwise fine. Although we made a direct request to the hotel (through the travel agent) for a disabled (walk-in) shower, the hotel was unable to accommodate our request. In the event, the shower was manageable, and the room + balcony was very pleasant. Fortunately, we had brought our own travel kettle + tea/coffee/ milk. The food (half-board) was overall good, with lots of salads & fruit; however, even a bottle of water at dinner was charged for. We paid for a taxi back to Faro airport, 40 mins cost Eu60. this enabled us to grab some breakfast (07.30 start).
