Fantastic ancient Chinese lodging with modern amenities. You get the chance to sleep on a Luohan bed. The room is a suite! Within Pingyao walled city, it was easy to go to visit the sites. The lady owner gave me a map. Even though I speak no Chinese and they speak no English, we were able to communicate using a translator app. She recommended a restaurant when I asked. They made the utmost effort to make your stay enjoyable. The owner took me to the railway station when I left. P.S. Best to download MAPS.ME as it will work offline. Google Maps does not work in China. The taxi will drop you outside the city wall and you can ride the shuttle to the hotel. Make sure you got the Chinese address. Also same possible, install the Wechat app as it is used widely in China - you text in English they translate to Chinese and vice versa.

Hygiene: The yard and rooms are very clean and suitable for living with babies Service: The host is hospitable and the hostess is beautiful. I recommend restaurants in the ancient city to avoid a lot of pitfalls. The restaurants where I eat casually are really unpalatable and expensive

If you want to explore the ancient town of Pingyao, then this hotel is fantastic. It's 15mins away from the high speed railway. They pick up and drop out off outside the city. With the covid regulations in place, the hotel supported me through the process and helped me gain entry into the city. I was then collected and driven to the hotel. Check-in was smooth and the lady helped me to book tickets for the Pingyao theatre show at the same time. I received a free upgrade from a double room to a suite. All in all, a fantastic holiday, and a great experience.

This is my third visit to the ancient city of Pingyao. I was on a business trip to Taiyuan. I decided to come to Pingyao for a walk before returning to Beijing. Unexpectedly, I didn’t expect that Pingyao Guild Hall would pick me up and drop me off. I also learned more about Pingyao’s customs and customs. December is the off-season for tourists. Very few. The inn pick-up service is very thoughtful, we have a lot of luggage, so we don't have to worry about getting from the car to the room. The food in the restaurant is also good. Because I arrived late, I had dinner in the restaurant. I am very satisfied with the dishes that meet the light taste of our southerners. The breakfast dishes are also delicious. The service staff is very warm and generous, and took the initiative to help take pictures and take them around the inn. In short, it is a comfortable inn to live in.

This is our second stay at this hotel. The reason is that we had a very nice time for our first visit 4 years ago. This time it was as nice as before or even much nicer! The proprietress told us the parking location. The location of the inn is very good, just on North Street, less than 5 minutes on foot, and slacker. It is also very convenient to visit attractions, 5 minutes walk to Ming and Qing Street. The proprietress is very enthusiastic and always smiles. The mantra: Okay, no problem 😄😄😄 and she also brought us a map to introduce her skills in detail. Shuanglin Temple must go to it. It’s so beautiful. We listened to the recommendation of the proprietress. The beef was bought in the supermarket outside the city. The price is the same as the price of the locals. Just ask the proprietress when you leave. Great! I like the decoration style of the room. Mrs. Kang is so comfortable. The latex mattress and pillows are so clean. It feels comfortable and relieved. The breakfast is very homely, four side dishes, refreshing, millet porridge is very comfortable, and egg custard, the wife said, ask the boss how to make it, it is delicious, I am sorry to have another bowl😂😂😂 By the way, every room has a name with a good meaning, we live in the old age 😄 My wife drove, I commented, it's raining, I'm rich! In the room, the lady at the front desk immediately packed up and called to notify.

In August, the family arrived on the third floor of the ancient city of Pingyao. Although it was dusty outside, the small courtyard was quiet and peaceful. It has to be said that it is a wonderful feeling to share the same roof with the predecessors across hundreds of years. The double kang room we booked was so spacious that no one lived in the small kang room. The room furnishings are clean, hygienic, simple and comfortable, with the characteristics of the former dynasty. As an ancient building, the courtyard also retains its original appearance without changing its appearance too much. A random photo taken in the courtyard is no different from the ones taken by travelers outside. It is better to enjoy this space alone than the young grandma of Shanxi businessmen who are all over the street outside 😏. The boss and his wife are very friendly. They helped us plan the tour route, shared all kinds of things about Pingyao, and gave us carefully prepared small gifts, which made us experience the hospitality of Shanxi people. The hotel operator tried hard to contact me before I got to the hotel to see if I needed a shuttle from the train station (but my Chinese is poor and I misunderstood his phone call). He gave me a map and restaurant recommendations once I arrived. The hotel is about a four minute walk from the southwest gate, on a quiet side street (but the street is long). The ambience was lovely, and the facilities were fine - although the bathroom in my room is narrow so my knees touched the wall when I used the toilet. However, this is an old converted building, so I didn't mind too much. It was very cold at night in early May, but the room has a heater.
