Kyoto Homestays

It was just a normal Guesthouse... The stairs were a bit hard to handle with a large bag but not impossible to get up. The toilets on the floor of the room reused the water from washing your hands for the next flush however therewas no soap... The showers are on the second floor and are not separated by gender... The common areas were spacious enough and had a nice window front.

The location is very good - ten minutes walk from the train station. A bonus is its proximity to Higashi Honganji temple and its detached garden Shosei-en. The hostel itself is very well set up and very well run. The facilities are excellent - the kitchen is as good as any I have come across in a hostel in Japan. The bunk beds are comfortable. The lack of privacy curtains was not a problem in my stay, but with less considerate room mates it could be. The showers are very good: plenty of pressure and good temperature control. The common/dining room is spacious and comfortable but I found the piped 'cafe music' from morning to night there irritating. The desk staff were all helpful and competent, and spoke good English. The cleaning staff worked hard to keep the hostel clean, and it was reassuring to see them going around disinfecting surfaces in view of the current coronavirus epidemic. No fault of the Kyoto hostel, but booking on the K's house website is unnecessarily complicated. I found it preferable to pay more for the ease of booking.com than wrestle with K's House booking process to take advantage of their 'secret deals' (loyalty discounts).

Clean and hygienic; there is a small kitchen with microwave, oven and basic pots and pans, which can meet basic requirements; the location is also convenient and the service is good. Marutamachi Subway Station Exit 4

Fabulous location, close to the main station. Easy to find, and lots inclusions in a bargain price. Lovely outdoor terraces on the ground floor (smokers) and 3rd floor. Washing machines and dryers on site, with the bonus that you don't need to provide your own detergent, at a VERY reasonable price. Immaculately clean, friendly staff who aren't afraid to speak English, and the rooms are very well-appointed. I stayed in a 4 bed dorm, which was comfortable, spacious and there is even an option to choose your own pillow, so that you can be extra comfy.

Like at home! Fantastic! The position is ok, not so far from city centre, in a quiet and beautiful zone. The host are very very gentle, they help you in everithing! The structure is so kind and rooms and toilet are clean and confortable. The breakfast also is top!

There was no xymi in a firm thick wooden bed, and the mattress was moderately soft and comfortable and had a good sleep time. In addition, the bottom of the mattress is tatami mats, and there is a cushion, so the hardness of the plate is not felt at all, and the size is about two tatami mats, and the cozy of the room is also the best. Gion kobashi and Yahanshin Sha shrine were also very close, and there were many restaurants and restaurants. The neighborhood is located in a quiet street in the old art town, so it is quiet and calm when you use the lounge or go to bed at midnight. The lounge also has tatami space, so you can really relax like you are in the inn. Towels and bath towels are also available for free, and amenities are also available in Shiseido, and if you have a real change of underwear, you can stay hanging. The location was good, so it was perfect for Kyoto sightseeing base.

Good and good

Beautiful Guest House with amazing hosts. This family run Guest House is amazing. It is as good as a 5 star hotel but better! The rooms are spotless and a good size for Japan with all the amenities you could need. However, that is not the best part - the best part is the host family who are very special indeed. From the minute I was collected at Kyoto Station by Emiko and her father I was treated with such kindness and enthusiasm. I felt like I was royalty! I must not forget the location, which is perfect for visiting all the local attractions, either within walking distance, or a short train ride from the local station which is just a 5 minute walk. If you stay anywhere else in Kyoto you are just missing out on the best Guest House there is.

The hotel is close to Jr Kyoto Station, a 5-10 minute walk. It is located on a quiet street, facing a park. There is no sound at night and it is very quiet. There will be English-speaking staff at the counter who are very polite and friendly. They will say hello and bow when they come back from going out, making you feel like you are being taken care of. I highly recommend Private Bath. It only costs 1,000yen for 50 minutes and you can take a hot spring bath alone on the top floor. It is very comfortable and satisfying.

The hotel is in a convenient location. The interior space is spacious enough for three people. The bathroom is separated from wet and dry rooms. The overall feeling is very satisfactory. The only drawback is that there is no place to eat nearby and you need to take a bus to eat nearby.
