Domus Renier Boutique Hotel

Fantastic room in boiserie with views on the Venetian port of Chania. Super courteous staff. Very central location in the ZTL, taxis do not arrive there and a walk with baggage must be taken into account, although at arrival it was told me that the hotel offers a reception service at the taxi post and baggage transportation.
Riviera Suites

1. Very new 4 room suites suite hotel.(since December 2022) 2. Interiors and finishing very high quality and very clean. 3. Next to harbor and walking distance to all interesting site and old town . 4. Breakfast is served at the sailing club , 100 meters away from location. You are allowed to choose from 4 sets of fixed options which for us was a bit boring to eat for 5 days, as the English breakfast was the only one that we preferred . Choice of coffee was limited to 1 cup of American coffee. It would have been better to offer just a bed option and leave us to choose where to breakfast from so many choices around the area. 5. We were told that Our suite, number 201, was on 2nd floor with no elevator so we thought that was acceptable but turned out that you need to climb over 48 steps carrying your own 30 kg case to your room 🤔😔.(BETTER TO CLEAR THIS WHEN DESCRIBING ROOMS) 6. They offer you a complimentary bottle of white wine and bottled water on arrival . after that you need to buy your own water. 7. When booking our room they say all rooms are Facing sea front but turned out the our room had a side view of the harbor. 8. For such a beautiful suite and offered free amenities it would have been good to provide tissue papers aswell . 9. The receptionist is not available all the time but you can reach by phone if you need them. 10 Car park available for hotel
Metropolitan Pearl Boutique Hotel
4.2/514 Reviews
Metropolitan Pearl Boutique Hotel in Chania was a really nice experience! I arrived in the middle of the night, and had a smooth check-in. When I woke up, I discovered that the street is full of small stores and restaurants. Really cozy southern atmosphere. Coffee on the balcony was appreciated. The room was small, but equipped with everything necessary. The staff was friendly and helpfull, explained me what I should see, and since the hotell is right in the centre of the Old Town, I had walking distance everywhere. The brekfast was excellent, in a shaddowed alley, every morning before the beach. Overall a great experience, and highly recommended!
Danaos Hotel

Nea Hora
This hotel has a perfect location, right on the beach. It’s wonderfully clean. The cleaning staff do an incredible job. The air conditioning works well. The decor is basic but maintained well. This is where the good things end. This is where the two stars lie. We arrived at the hotel on the understanding that the room had been paid for and only the city tax was due on arrival. We were then told that it hadn’t been paid for, by a disbelieving receptionist. When I raised this with the booking agent, the payment was estimated be taken in May 2024, but the hotel chose to do this on arrival. The disbelieving woman was wholly unhelpful when I queried this with her. Ordinarily we would have noticed the payment leave an account, but on this occasion had not checked that it had gone out. In any event, this caused a lot of confusion. We were given no information about breakfast or where this was held. We ate at the restaurant once - this consisted of a frozen pizza with some tomatoes on top. Suffice to say, we didn’t eat there again. Before our stay, the hotel very helpfully arranged a taxi for us and this went smoothly. The return taxi has been arranged for our actual flight time, despite the fact we were asked what the flight time was and thought they’d arrange the taxi to come before this. Another receptionist huffed at me when I asked that this be changed to say, 10am so we could actually get home! The icing on the cake was the voices outside and the unannounced hammering on our door at 11pm at night in the evening before our return journey home. We thought a drunken guest had got the wrong room, but the voices and banging continued. As a mother of a young child who was travelling with me, I was reluctant to open the door, but the banging continued. I opened the door to attempt to tell them they’d got the wrong room and we were asleep (which we were) to be greeted by the ‘hotel owner’ who said he needed to access our room to get onto the adjoining balcony (presumably to access the room?!). Would a simple knock, announcement of who you are and apology not have sufficed, and put us a bit more at ease? I had to let a strange man into our room at 11pm at night. Not happy.
Elia Portou Rooms

Cute, cuter, cutest. Elia is the cutest. The sheets were comfy, the bed stiff yet plush. My wife enjoyed the balcony although the view was slightly over mediocre. The free, fresh cookies and eggs were a nice touch. The fridge did make brown noise but really, at the end of the day, I think it helped us sleep better (even though we had to wake up at 4:30am to catch our local bus to Heraklion to make our 9am Blue ferry—but this was delayed too). Good thing we remembered to leave our keys in the room.
Elia Bettolo Hotel

I booked to Elia in Chania and I called the day before to ask for a shuttle from the airport to the hotel (the hotel offered this service). I asked for the driver to have a POS so I pay with a credit card. A driver came at the airport, he was nice but did not have POS because nobody from the hotel informed him about it. Thus, I had to walk with him around the city to a taxi place where his partner had the POS to pay. At the hotel and during my check in I was informed that my breakfast will not be served at my hotel but in another hotel 300 meters away. I complained because this was not written in the description of the room/hotel. Then, I had to walk with my suitcase to the hotel I booked (the check in was at the hotel where breakfast was served). When I arrived I found out that there is no elevator and I had to carry my luggage upstairs which was not possible because I broke my hand a few months ago (see pictures). I called the reception of the hotel and they told me that they do not offer groom service. I went to the room and left the suitcase downstairs. I informed the reception that either they should arrange so the suitcase is carried to my room or offer me a free cancellation. Moreover the room had a bad smell...I do not know if it is humidity or the smell from the bathroom... I also asked for a room change afterwards. The manager refused through the receptionist to offer me a free cancellation or change me room. The only thing the reception did was to send a person to carry my suitcase to my room. Terrible experience, I do not recommend this hotel chain to anyone. The management is UNPROFESSIONAL and offer NO CUSTOMER SERVICE! Of course I informed ********** immediately and they were trying to find the manager but he was hiding!
