Hôtel Sainte-Anne

What a wonderful hotel! The location was absolutely perfect, close to everything. The rooms were modern and clean. The bathroom also modern and had its own heater which was perfect for this warm blooded Florida person. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again!

The room is not too big, but the bed is very big, one double for three people, the bathroom is big enough; there is always hot water and coffee, there is drink in the morning; during the stay, it should be the Italian restaurant under the same company. Discount breakfast coupons, recommended to eat, add a tip, tax or something, a person more than ten Canadian dollars, the value; parking free, a few simple meals around; a few kilometers from the old city, but it is not far. Very satisfied.
Hotel Champlain

My family and I stayed here for our first night of a week long holiday in Quebec. From the moment we entered, we were disappointed. The staff at the front desk acknowledged us, only after prying themselves away from their cell phones. I noticed that the amount we were being charged was in excess of what we were originally quotes in an email, so I questioned the charge. The girls argued that prices are subject to change so I asked for a manager. The manager came and explained that the girls were new hires and granted us the price we were originally quoted, but upon an attempt to reverse the charge on my credit card, rang the charge in 2 more times, so I now had 3 charges on my credit card totalling about $1200. The manager said I would need to call my bank. I called my bank who advised that until the transaction is posted, there was nothing they could do and the hotel would need to deal with it first. The hotel manager then said by midnight everything should be cleared off the card. This didn't end up being the case. To make a long story short, 7 days, various excuses by hotel management and several angry phone calls later, the charges were removed from my card. We ended up getting the night stay free of charge for all of the aggravation their error caused. The second issue that we had with this hotel, is while it is central to many tourist attractions, they advertise that the hotel is pet friendly, however, the hotel is located in the middle of a street where there is no place for dogs to go to the washroom without walking a distance. We would never recommend this hotel to anyone, as there are many other options in the area with basic rooms like we had that care about their customers' satisfaction.
Hotel et Motel le Chateauguay

Good price/performance ratio. I stayed for two nights, just beside Highway 138 and 404, so although it is a suburb, it is very convenient to get into the city. It takes 20 minutes to get to the old city and not far from Crystal Falls. The facilities are complete and convenient. The front desk was very enthusiastic. We asked Tadosac about the situation and enthusiastically helped us.
Le Chateau de Pierre

Upon arriving in our room on the ground floor, we found it to be quite hot. However, we thought that maybe the A/C had been turned off, so we turned it on and hoped that it would cool off. We set off to explore a bit. On our return, the room seemed even hotter, and we had a night of very little sleep due to extreme heat. The air conditioning was letting out a tiny bit of cool air that could only be felt by lying on one side of one of the beds. In the morning, we contacted the off site staff, and said that the air conditioning appeared to not be working properly, and stated that we had experienced an awful night of no sleep. We asked if they could at least find a fan, and have somebody look at the unit. We were told that they would look for a fan. By late afternoon, my son, walked back to the hotel for a nap, and the room was unbearable. There was no fan delivered. When the rest of us returned, we were shocked with the heat, and literally sat with cold cloths on our heads attempting to keep ourselves cool. We immediately tried to contact the off site staff again. Response was slow, and when we finally heard back, we were told that they couldn’t find a fan. My husband said that there was no way that we could stay in the room with the temperature the way it was, and asked would they be able to move us. The lady we spoke to said she would call back in 5 minutes to either change rooms, or move us to one of their other properties. Great we thought. However, no phone call came, only a text to say that they couldn’t move us anywhere and that they could refund us but could be of no further help. Although we appreciated the refund, the hotel had all day to deal with this issue, but couldn’t even find a fan. This left us, on our vacation, spending time trying to relocate. Thank God we found somewhere, but we specifically chose the St. Pierre due to its location, and we are now considerably further away. I rate this hotel 2/10 for customer service. They were not quick to respond, and we felt they should have called us back and offered a personal apology rather than a terse text of “so sorry”. Would definitely not stay again
Hotel Acadia

We had a nice stay at hotel acadia for 4 days. We were visiting for a mother daughter getaway. I was a little worried because of some of the recent very negative reviews, I can see the reason for some of them but people need to manage their expectations when booking a hotel at a cheaper rate. I would say this is a budget hotel, this is reflected in the price and the hotel itself, although I can see they are starting some renovations. This hotel definitely has a lot of potential. I wish I could give 3.5 stars, but I thought 3 was too low, so I gave 4. Here are some pros and cons Pros -Very friendly reception staff -beds were super comfortable! -great location -we booked a superior room with 2 beds, this was a nice size and had a charming quebec feel with the fireplace and brick wall. -free breakfast every morning at sagamite when booking through their website. Food was really good. -water machine and cappuccino/espresso machine in lobby, with Keurig in room. No charge to use these. Cons -cleanliness: we did feel cleanliness was lacking. There was visible dust on the vanity shelving and the bathroom just didn't seem clean, black mold on the tiles. The bathroom was dated and could use an update. Made me question the cleanliness of everything else. -no housekeeping throughout our stay -no wifi or TV for the duration of our stay in the room, they said it was being fixed but it never was. -hot tub not working, and I don't think it has been for a while. It shouldn't be advertised! -when we checked in they told us that there was a drip in the bathtub that they ”couldn't get fixed before we checked in”. We looked at the tub and there is a visible mark from it dripping for a long period of time. Don't be dishonest with your guests. Overall it was a good stay, we paid $150 a night with breakfast included for a superior room and I am happy with the value we got. Anything more expensive I would have been dissapointed.
