Originally, in order to drive away the sand devils, which are depressing in summer, many lantern floats were made to parade, and then they were exiled into the water. Today is August 2-7 every year, and many units will make large lanterns to participate in the parade. There are about 20 large lanterns in each parade (the number of lanterns on August 5-6 is relatively large), plus there are dancers wearing flower hats, traditional costumes, and flute players before and after each lantern. The visitors and the big drum car, as well as the small advertising light cars of the participating units, are very beautiful and spectacular. August 2-6 is the night light car parade at 19-21 o'clock, and the 7th is 13-15 o'clock in the daytime. It is located on the two wide roads outside Aomori Railway Station. There will be traffic control at that time. On the evening of the 7th, there will be a sea light car parade and fireworks display at Qingzhihai Park next to the bridge. ~ Outside Sukayu Onsen ~(1) Autumn Leaves:- Best place to view autumn leaves.The first 6 photos are of Monday 23rd Oct 2023.- Today 25th Oct the leaves have turned red like the last picture.(2) Note for the onsen: Smell of sulfur is strong even outside the place.(3) Mt. Hakkodaodake : 5.2 km walk Pretty steep but is very interesting. Unfortunately, we just walked up 5 minutes but it was wet and hour shoes weren&rsquo;t ready.

The snow on Mt. Hakko doesn&rsquo;t melt until June, so it is still a natural place favored by skiers. The cable car on Mt. Hakko is as smooth as other cable cars in Japan, and it is as safe even when crossing the slopes.

There was a short queue but staff works fast.Rest of the building is ticketed access.Aomori sea is just beside it so do spend some time there to admire the sea view!
