Gagosian is pleased to present Histórias Moldadas, an exhibition of new paintings by Adriana Varejão. Opening in Athens on May 15, this marks her first exhibition in Greece, and her fourth with the gallery. Histórias Moldadas features four new bodies of painting from Varejão’s Tile series, inspired by Brazilian, Greek, Turkish, and Chinese ceramic traditions.

The Acropolis is located on a limestone hill 150 meters southwest of Athens, built in the 5th century BC, and is a holy site to commemorate the victory of the Hippo War and sacrifice to Athena, the patron saint of Athens. The main building, the Parthenon, is backed by the Athenian Prakka maze of houses, and stands steeply on one side of the sea, towering in the blue sea and blue sky. In addition to the Parthenon, the Acropolis has a mountain gate, the Temple of Victory, the Temple of Irektion, and the Adikus Concert Hall. The chief architect was the famous Fidias. Six hundred years later, the Roman historian Prutuck said of the Acropolis: &quot;The tower is towering, magnificent, beautiful, unparalleled&quot;, and the 19th-century French writer Flaubert called the Acropolis &quot;the most beautiful source of history and art.&quot;

The biggest feature of the Acropolis Museum is its spatial design, which is equivalent to making the Acropolis as a whole a simple space. Standing in front of the huge glass curtain and looking at the ruins of the Acropolis, it feels like a spatial transformation. The sculpture art of ancient Greece is indeed beyond compare. My favorite is the Maiden Column of the Temple of Poseidon; it is said that the head of the family stopped in front of a sculpture for a long time when visiting the Acropolis Museum. It&#39;s a pity that my stay was too short. I suggest that you spend more time in the Acropolis Museum, at least half a day.

The British Museum is like most Greek temples, and the temple is used as a vault. 1, built in 447 BC to replace the old Parthenon (destroyed in 480 BC by Persians). 2, for a while was the treasure of the Tyrolean alliance (later turned into the Athenian Empire). In the 6th century, Patnon was converted to a church dedicated to the Virgin Mary (the formerly dedicated Athena was also a virgin). 4. In the early 1460s, after being conquered by the Ottoman Turks, it was used as a mosque. In 1687, it was used as a gunpowder bank by the Turkish army and was unfortunately badly damaged in an explosion. By 1800, only half of the statues of Patnon had survived, and British Ambassador Sir Erkin, after obtaining the approval of the Ottoman government, began to transport half of the surviving statues back to the UK at his own expense from 1801, and began to be displayed in the British Museum from 1817.

The Athens Archaeological Museum is the largest museum in Greece, with a collection of nearly 20,000 pieces, covering prehistoric to late ancient artifacts, and is the epitome of ancient Greek civilization.
