Angel Bay Pebble Beach, France: A Tranquil Mediterranean Paradise

The pebbly beach of Angel Bay is Nice&#39;s most recognizable landmark and a unique feature of the Mediterranean coast. Unlike the soft, fine sand of typical beaches, this beach is paved with millions of smooth, rounded pebbles. Over hundreds of years, the pebbles have been sculpted by the waves, their color gradually changing from off-white and light gray to jet black. Each pebble leaves a crisp, natural sound underfoot.

During peak season, the beach is lively yet tranquil. Blue and white parasols dot the pebbles, creating a stunning scene against the backdrop of the gradient blue water and the distant, crescent-shaped bay. In the afternoon sun, the pebbles reflect a delicate shimmer, and walking barefoot, while requiring a little adjustment, offers a natural foot massage. The crystal-clear, refreshing water is perfect for swimming; fish can be seen darting about, and novice and experienced snorkelers alike enjoy the view from the shore.

Evening is the golden hour on the beach. The setting sun casts a warm orange glow on the pebbles, the waves gently lap at the shore, and the palm trees along the Promenade des Anglais sway in the breeze. The distant Castle Hill and the red-tiled roofs of the old town provide a stunning backdrop. Here, there is no commercial hustle and bustle, only the leisurely sunbathing of locals and the sweet whispers of couples. You can experience both the vibrant spirit of the Mediterranean and the laid-back charm of Nice&mdash;a hidden gem of a Mediterranean paradise worth slowing down and savoring.

The old town of Nice has well preserved various styles of ancient buildings since the 18th century, such as Baroque churches and Italian-style buildings. Walk into the maze-like old town, stroll through the winding alleys, admire the brightly colored and different styles of buildings, and shop in the unique shops. If you walk to the Cours Saleya, you will immediately see all kinds of bright fruits, candies, and flowers, which are dazzling. If you are tired of walking, you can find a restaurant or cafe and sit in the open air to taste the specialties and famous dishes of Nice.

The walk to the top of the hill can be completed within half an hour, which is rather comfortable and suitable for family travelers. There were some ruins of an ancient church and fortress.
