The Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan is widely considered one of the best aquariums in the world and a highlight of a visit to Osaka. There weren&#39;t many highlights. It was a reconstruction of an old building, which explains why there were so many modern architectural details. There was a lot of explanatory material, but not many original artifacts; it seems that apart from the foundation, there&#39;s not much from the Toyotomi Hideyoshi era.

The extra stone museum ticket wasn&#39;t really worth it. You just go in, look at the pile of stones from the foundation, and then leave. The Japanese are really something&mdash;they managed to put together an exhibition of such a small amount of material.

It&#39;s definitely worth it. I recommend buying tickets online in advance and scanning the QR code to enter, which can save you a lot of queuing time. The various exhibits inside are quite interesting, provided you are interested in Japanese culture. If you are not interested, it&#39;s just a pure observation deck.

I had a lot of fun. I bought the triple pack where you can &quot;dive and walk,&quot; slide, and go to the observation tower.I wanted to do it in that order, but due to the language barrier and not clear directions on where to go I slid first, then observation tower, and I did &quot;dive and walk last.&quot; If you want to dive and walk first then you need to bring your QR code to an office which is about 1 min from the tower. In that office you change into your harness and helmet (and that&#39;s where you bring it back too). I loved the experience and the tower, I just would have liked to have done &quot;dive and walk&quot; first. Regardless, I had fun and recommend it.
