The grottoes are worth seeing. Remember to hire a professional guide; the more people in your group, the higher the guide&#39;s level and the more detailed their explanations.

The only regret of this trip was arriving late. Entry is at 3:40 PM, and the grottoes close at 5 PM. In a rush, I found a &quot;wild guide&quot; at the ticket gate. He introduced himself as a guy in his early twenties with curly hair and a black down jacket, claiming to have gold, silver, bronze, and iron badges and charging 180 yuan per hour for one-on-one explanations. He said he was a man in his twenties. However, he spent the entire time looking at the ceiling and reciting from a script, occasionally reading from his phone, regardless of how far away you were. He probably didn&#39;t even know where the information on his phone was.

Fortunately, the site is worth seeing. Definitely go early; even seeing it on your own is breathtaking. You don&#39;t need to take the shuttle bus; it&#39;s not far, you can just stroll around.

The Hanging Temple of Hengshan Mountain in Datong, Shanxi Province, was first built in 491 AD (the 15th year of the Taihe reign of the Northern Wei Dynasty) by disciples of the Taoist master Kou Qianzhi, based on his dying wish to &quot;reach the heavens above and sever all worldly clamor below.&quot; With a history of over 1500 years, it is the oldest existing high-altitude wooden cliff-side architectural complex in China. **Structural Features:** 27 hemlock beams are inserted into the rock face as an &quot;aerial foundation.&quot; The wooden pillars at the bottom are merely for psychological comfort; the actual load-bearing structure relies on hidden crossbeams, achieving the &quot;suspended&quot; appearance.

**Reasons for its excellent preservation:** The canyon terrain reduces sunlight erosion, the mountain shelters it from floods, and the mortise and tenon structure provides strong earthquake resistance.

**Cultural significance:** One of the world&#39;s ten most dangerous architectural wonders, and the only temple where Buddhism, Taoism, and Confucianism coexist, reflecting the inclusiveness of diverse ancient beliefs.

**Admission is free for those over 60, but tickets are extremely difficult to obtain during peak season; remember to book your visit in advance.**

During my recent trip to Shanxi, I visited several ancient cities. Although many of the ancient cities we see today are rebuilt later, Datong Ancient City does have many historical sites worth visiting! Huayan Temple, Prince Dai&#39;s Mansion, Shanhua Temple, the Nine Dragon Wall, and many others are all historical relics well worth seeing. Therefore, I suggest that you allocate more time to Datong, a city full of cultural heritage!

The tour guide&#39;s explanation was lively and informative, allowing me to fully appreciate the unique charm of the Datong Museum. Datong is not only resplendent with its ancient architecture, but also its underground cultural relics. I was particularly struck by the museum&#39;s treasures, which were truly stunning.

While it was freezing cold outside, the singing and dancing at Fantawild was ablaze with excitement. During the Spring Festival, discounted tickets were available, but outdoor attractions were closed, so only indoor ones were available. The attractions had a schedule, but due to time conflicts and locational issues, I wasn&#39;t able to experience all of them in one day. The festive atmosphere was there, and the joy of entertainment was there.
