Young Green Gym is a six week Forest School inspired intervention to support children who face mental health challenges.  Over the last two years we have been delivering this project to children from across Leeds schools through funding from Local Care Direct. The project takes inspiration from the Forest Schools approach, using a mixture of adult led games and skills sessions which help children become more comfortable in the natural environment and to learn new things, and child led time where the children can decide what interestes they want to pursue. Reflection is used at the end of each session to help children to understand what they have achieved, and we include the children in the planning process for future sessions so that the children feel empowerment in deciding the direction of the project.  This event provides an opportunity for you to find out more about the programme and to take part in an example session so that you can get a feel for how the project is run.
