Discover the world of Dobell at the Young Dobell Drop in and Draw event in Cameron Park. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the renowned artist, Sir William Dobell, and get creative by drawing a portrait for the Young Dobell Competition. Taking place at the Sugar Valley Library Museum on May 9, 2024, from 4pm to 5pm, this event welcomes participants aged 5 to 18 free of charge. All necessary materials will be provided; participants are only required to bring a photo of a pet or person for inspiration. 

The Young Dobell Competition, organized by Lake Macquarie City Council in celebration of the Lake Macquarie Dobell Festival, invites young artists from the Hunter region to showcase their talent. Participants can choose to create a portrait of a significant person or pet in their life, or a landscape artwork of a special place. The competition features three theme categories – Portrait, Pet, and Landscape – across four age groups. Don't miss this fantastic opportunity to unleash your creativity and be part of the Young Dobell Competition in Cameron Park.
