Trip Moments
If you are looking for an outdoor photo spot like no other in Whistler, Train Wreck is definitely not to be missed! Hidden in the forest, it combines history and nature beauty, with rivers, woods, and graffitied abandoned train cars along the way, full of old railroad vibes and a touch of rebellious art. Open for free all year round, it is perfect for families or friends to explore together. It is perfect for those who like to hike, take pictures and feel the historical atmosphere. 🌲Travel route suggestions: The start can be reached from the beginning of the Train Wreck Trail, which is about 2KM long and takes about an hour each way. The route is flat and easy to walk. Along the way, you will pass through dense forests and rivers with fresh air, perfect for novice or family hikes. If you like to take pictures, you can pay special attention to several colorful train cars, all graffitied by local artists. 🎨Must-do items and photo spots: 1. Graffiti train carriages: There are 6 train carriages scattered along the road, scattered in different locations, everyone will find the best check-in background for their style. 2. Suspension Bridge: On the way, you will pass a wooden suspension bridge with a clear river below to give you a sense of the original beauty and excitement of nature. 3. Forest Walk: Most sections of the road are covered by tree shade, even in the summer when it doesn’t get too stuffy, you can hear birdsong along the way, and you can see snowy views in the winter. 🔍Playing Tips: - It is recommended to bring mosquito repellent, there are a small amount of mosquitoes in the forest. - Roads may be wet and slippery during autumn and winter, remember to wear hiking shoes or waterproof sneakers. - Less crowds in the morning, take pictures and check in without waiting for a seat, avoid too much sunlight. - There are no washrooms or shops along the road. Bring your own water and snacks to keep the environment tidy. - No tickets for the whole trip, no reservations required, you can leave at any time! ⚡Notes: Train Wreck, although open year-round, some of the lots inside are more wilderness, encounter rain or snow periods, be careful of wet and slippery feet. Some of the abandoned carriages have signs of disrepair. Try not to climb when taking pictures for safety. If you want to have a relaxing half-day hike in Whistler, the Train Wreck Trail has both forest and rivers, a sense of history and artistic elements, perfect for a group of friends to experience the characteristics of Vancouver's coastal mountains!
