Join crime historian Adam Wood for a 90 minute illustrated talk revealing some of Warwick's most notorious true crime tales of the Victorian era, some associated with the very room in which the talk will take place. Hear how an employee of the Nelson works, having argued with his wife one evening, waited until she was asleep before bashing her brains out with a brick from the fireplace; the two elderly ladies who were discovered brutally murdered in the home they shared, the door locked and bolted from the inside, with no sign of a break in; and how 'Jack the Ripper' left a note on a fortunate Warwick housewife's kitchen table letting her know he had visited while she was out.   The Nelson Club opens at 6.30pm - the talk will start at 7.00pm and end at 9.00pm, with an interval.
