Zhang Daqian (1899-1983) is one of the greatest Chinese painting masters of the 20th century, renowned both domestically and internationally. Although he achieved early fame in Beijing and Shanghai, he had a deep connection with Chongqing. In the spring of 1914, Zhang Daqian traveled to Chongqing to study at the Qiujing School, where he spent over two years of secondary school, establishing a solid foundation in Chinese literature. In 1916, he left his native Sichuan for the first time to study in Japan, also departing from Chongqing by boat along the Yangtze River to Shanghai. The magnificent scenery along the Yangtze River left a deep impression on him. During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Zhang Daqian also visited Chongqing several times to hold exhibitions. For example, on December 3, 1938, he and Yan Jiyuan held an exhibition at the Chongqing Yingnianhui to raise funds for winter clothing; in May 1944, he held an exhibition of Zhang Daqian's reproductions of Dunhuang murals at the Chongqing Lianglukou Central Library.

This exhibition focuses on the traditional aspects of Zhang Daqian&#39;s painting and calligraphy. Drawing on collections from the Chongqing China Three Gorges Museum and the Sichuan Museum, it is divided into two sessions, showcasing works created by Zhang Daqian in the 1930s and 1940s, representing his early and middle periods.

The Chongqing China Three Gorges Museum, also known as the Chongqing Museum, was formerly the Southwest Museum, established in March 1951. The museum consists of five venues: the main building, the Chongqing Baiheliang Underwater Museum, the Chongqing Soong Ching Ling Memorial Hall, the Tushan Kiln Site, and the Chongqing Three Gorges Cultural Relics Science and Technology Protection Center. It has formed a distinctive collection series including &quot;ancient human specimens, Three Gorges cultural relics, Ba-Yu bronzes, Han Dynasty cultural relics, Southwest ethnic minority cultural relics, anti-Japanese war cultural relics from the rear area, porcelain, calligraphy and painting, and guqin (ancient Chinese stringed instruments)&quot;.

I took the Yangtze River Cableway in Chongqing as a souvenir. It&#39;s the off-season now, so it wasn&#39;t too crowded, but the cableway was packed, like riding a bus. The whole ride was just over 3 minutes long, which was short.

Chongqing Zoo is directly accessible by subway, and there are also several bus lines near the entrance, making it very convenient to get around. Tickets are only 20 yuan during the off-season, which is incredibly good value. I spent two hours inside, and even then, it was just a quick look. The pandas are adorable. It was just so tiring for my legs! No wonder it&#39;s a mountain city; even the zoo&#39;s pathways consist of various stairs and steps.

We took a bus to Baidi City and bought tickets for a deep cruise on the Qutang Gorge. The weather was sunny and the lighting was great, making for excellent photos. The scenery of the Three Gorges was so magnificent that we didn&#39;t want to leave!

Absolutely fantastic, a must-do activity!

The panoramic view of the Yangtze and Jialing Rivers in Chongqing at night is breathtaking!

The only downside was that the three of us didn&#39;t know how to get to the pier to board the boat. Because of time constraints, we were forced to pay an extra 60 yuan for directions! Actually, we later learned that the pier was right outside the first floor of Hongyadong!

Don&#39;t be silly and not know this!
