Artistry Unleashed - Cocktails and Calligraphy at The LAB, Cambridge The LAB, Cambridge and The Cambridge Calligrapher are teaming up to bring you a creative evening of calligraphy, beautiful drinks and great company. Learn the beautiful art of modern calligraphy with a Valentines Theme focused on creating beautiful and indulgent gifts for yourself and others with Su - The Cambridge Calligrapher. This workshop is designed for experienced calligraphers and for complete beginners so no experience is necessary. The small group size will ensure you have lots of personal attention, fun and feel ready to create a beautiful poster, card or gift tags. All workshops foster a calm and friendly atmosphere with a focus on wellbeing. You will start by understanding the basics of how to use a dip pen and nib with simple exercises learning to create thick and thin strokes, then applying these techniques to working your way through the alphabet creating letterforms in calligraphy. You will then be guided through letter joining and creating words in a modern calligraphy style with lots of guidance and demonstrations. The small group size will ensure you have lots of personal attention, fun and feel ready to create a beautiful poster, card or gift tags. In the second part of the session you will apply your new skills to work on your chosen project using calligraphy ink. We will be creating indulgent gifts including a journal, a card and a A6 Print. Gifts are ofourse suitabe for Valentines, day, your bestie or yourself! We will add embellishments, wax seals and gold foil to elevate your creation. All materials are provided including a starter kit, nib, nib holder and ink which you will take home with you to continue your calligraphy practice. You also take home ALL your creations. There is a statue of Henry VIII at the entrance of Trinity College. There is an apple tree on the green lawn at the entrance of the college, which is the source of Newton&#39;s law of &quot;universal gravitation&quot;. When you enter the Great Court of the college, the magnificent architecture brings a sense of awe. In the lobby of the church are jade statues of famous graduates from Trinity College, including Newton, Bacon, Tennyson and others.
