Join Lisa Kaplan, Assistant Executive Director of The MAC, and Lauren Schneider, an experienced artist and teaching artist, at the Using Student Centered Process workshop. This 6-hour workshop, open to all educators, will provide multiple entry points into learning through interactive activities. Lisa and Lauren will share their teaching approaches developed at the Middletown Art Center, where they have successfully reached over a thousand Lake Co students through field trips. By integrating art across the K-12 curriculum, they have created a student-centered process that engages diverse learners and learning styles. Through the power of the visual arts, participants will explore the four process components: creating, presenting, responding, and connecting. This approach fosters an immersive learning experience, activating higher order thinking skills. By gaining insights into our students' gifts, challenges, and unique ways of expressing understanding, we can better support their individual learning journeys. Materials will be provided for the workshop, and participants are encouraged to bring a laptop or tablet if possible. Additionally, please dress appropriately for studio work, including wearing an apron if desired. Don't miss out on this opportunity to enhance your teaching strategies and connect with fellow educators. Join Lisa Kaplan and Lauren Schneider at the Using Student Centered Process workshop in Lakeport on November 4, 2023. Admission is free, so reserve your spot today!
