This is an event to promote the importance of Australian translators and poets on the national and international cultural scene. Join us and our special guests, Chris Andrews, Toby Fitch and Stephanie Smee to discuss about their translation and adaptations of French texts into English and to find out more about their books and our research project. WHERE: Guest arrival: Please enter the Library via the Mitchell building. The event will take place in the Michael Crouch Room Getting to the Library | State Library of New South Wales (nsw.gov.au) Programme (attendants are welcome to join us at any time, even for only part of the day) 10:30 a.m.-11 a.m. = Arrival of attendants 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. = Launch and Presentation of the  Translation Nation  project by Dr Paul Gibbard (University of Western Australia), Dr Valentina Gosetti (University of New England, and Dr Alistair Rolls (University of Newcastle) 12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. = Lunch (light refreshment provided) 1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.= Translators and poets in conversation: a round table and Q&A with award-winning Australian literary translators Chris Andrews and Stephanie Smee and poet Toby Fitch Some more information on the  Translation Nation  Project: Translation Nation: Literary Translation as Cultural Mediation in Australia This project aims to explore the role of literary translation in the construction of Australian national identity. It will do this by mapping networks of circulation, consumption and production of French literary texts in translation over time from the colonial period, when translations were imported from Britain, through to today’s local industry, which exports Australian translations to the world. This event will focus on the important role of contemporary literary translators and poets on the Australian cultural scene. Lovely experience! Some animals like koala, kangaroos, giraffes were not caged and you can look at them and even come closer ✨ However , many animals were hiding or taking a nap far from where people can see them. the zoo is quite hilly so I recommend going to the main entrance on top of the zoo when you arrive so your exploration feels easier.

The scenery is stunning, a natural oxygen bar. The scenic area retains the original forest atmosphere while also offering modern cable car transportation.
I really enjoyed the downhill train ride. The nearly vertical slope was a bit thrilling, but the speed wasn&#39;t too fast, perfect for beginners like us who enjoy a bit of fun.

Seeing sharks and manta rays at the aquarium, and taking a boat trip to see penguins up close, as well as all sorts of colorful fish, was a great experience.
