Andrew Travers, the inaugural Penner Manager of Educational Programming, has curated an accompanying installation that utilizes Bayer’s atlas as a foundation for exploring pressing matters that affect our world today.

A standout feature of this installation is the meticulous recreation of Herbert Bayer’s “Outside-In Globe,” a remarkable sculpture initially constructed in 1943 for his exhibition, “Airways to Peace: An Exhibition of Geography for the Future,” held at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Suspended from the Isaacson Room ceiling, this immersive sculpture measures an impressive 8 feet in diameter, allowing viewers to physically step inside the globe. As Bayer himself proposed, this experience prompts us to contemplate the world as a unified entity.

Please note that the tour will take place in the Resnick Gallery at the Doerr-Hosier Center, located at 870 Meadows Road, Aspen, CO 81611. Kindly be advised that the event parking is available at the Aspen Meadows Resort parking garage beneath the tennis courts. This exclusive tour is open to the public and admission is free. However, please note that spaces are limited to 10 participants and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
