Where in the world are the whales? ‘The Whale’s Tale’ is a brand new theatre show for anyone over 5 asking just that question. A thoughtful, energetic show about whales, fishing villages, and protecting the oceans we all rely on. Using puppetry, original music and innovative storytelling, we follow the tales of Grace, a little girl who lives in a fishing village without any fish, and a young whale searching for her mother in the vast ocean. Something connects them, but what? Brought to us by puppeteer, performer and theatre maker Edie Edmindson, prepare to be surprised, entertained and inspired! Using puppetry, music and playful storytelling, The Whale's Tale invites us to open our minds and ask questions. It has been developed with input from Brixham fishermen, environmental campaigners and whale scientists with the aim of starting conversations. The show is accessible to Blind and Visually Impaired audiences, with Integrated Audio Description, and a touch tour before the show for anyone who would find it useful. Before the show, we will be offering a touch tour for anyone who would find it useful. This is your chance to get familiar with the set, puppets and characters within the show before it happens. You'll be able to feel the textures of the materials we've used, hear the voices and sounds from the show, and get a sense of the stage space. If you would like to attend this touch tour, which will be taking place between 14:00 - 14:30, please book your free ticket, alongside your main ticket for the performance, at the checkout. Age Restriction: Family-friendly show suitable for all 5 years + Image credit: Jess Shead Information Source: The Bridge, University of Plymouth | eventbrite
