Set in the enchanting setting of Bow Market Upstairs in Somerville, MA, this immersive event promises an unforgettable experience on Halloween night, October 31, 2023. At this exclusive event, visitors will have the privilege of encountering Madame Betty BOOM and her captivating assembly of poetry whores, tarot and palm readers, mesmerizing burlesque creatures, and other intriguing personalities, all united by their shared love for the written word. Inspired by The New Yorker's description, The Poetry Brothel takes pride in presenting a diverse cast of artists and artisans who embody a range of backgrounds, identities, and artistic styles. From established to emerging, local to international, this gathering showcases the talents of women, men, folx, people of color, queer and straight individuals. Each artist crafts a unique alter ego, transforming into faeries, sea creatures, witches, aliens, virgins, whores, and an array of other characters. Alongside their creative endeavors, some of these artists also engage in sex work outside of The Poetry Brothel. The event serves as a platform to support sex workers and educate the audience about the sex industry, with a portion of the proceeds contributing to the Massachusetts Sex-Worker Ally Network (MASWAN). The Poetry Brothel Boston: Haunted Hearts begins at 8pm, with doors opening at 7:30pm. This captivating evening is for those aged 21 and above, promising an enchanting costume contest with ghostly and haunting lewks taking home first, second, and third prizes. Consent and respect are the guiding principles at this event, ensuring everyone's comfort and safety. Themed costumes or vintage formal wear are encouraged, and masking is recommended but not mandatory. While the show includes flashing lights and amplified music, guests will also catch a glimpse of their true selves. COVID-19 precautions are in place, and all attendees are required to be vaccinated. The Granite Rock Monument in Charlestown, Boston, is said to be one of the earliest monuments in the United States to commemorate the Battle of Bunker Hill between the British and the North American colonial militias (well I admit I&#39;m checking it now) Now this is the terminal of Boston&#39;s Freedom Road. If the weather is good, you can walk all the way from Boston Park to think of the top of the stone tablet. The only way is to climb a total of 294 steps, and mark the numbers every other section, so that people who are panting and climbing have a number of monuments in their hearts. In fact, there is only a small space, but looking out through the small windows on all sides, I immediately feel that climbing the stairs is also worth it ～
