My name is Makayla Murphy, and I am the founder of 
The Pet Project
, a student-led club at Vincent Massey Secondary School dedicated to supporting animal welfare in our community. As someone passionate about animals and aspiring to become a veterinarian, I have always wanted to make a meaningful impact. While I haven’t been old enough to volunteer at the Humane Society, I have been helping at a veterinary hospital. However, I’ve been searching for a way to directly contribute to animal welfare, and I truly believe this initiative is the perfect opportunity.
I created The Pet Project with a vision. The mission is to raise funds, create handmade blankets and to provide direct support for animals in shelters. Animals typically stay at the Windsor Humane Society for 6 weeks to 6 months and because of this, we’re excited to host a 
Charity Golf Event
 to support them. They’re a vital organization that provides shelter, medical care, and adoption services for animals in need. The Windsor Humane Society gets overlooked when comes to charity and we want to change that. We’re dedicated to raising awareness and funds to support their incredible work.
