The Lavender Sky Foundation is hosting the League Community, Inclusion & Connection Lunch at Queensland Parliament in Brisbane City on February 3, 2024. This event aims to promote inclusion in the league, discuss mental health, and explore topics such as community development, leadership, and coaching practices. The foundation has invited players, ex-players, and NRL staff to participate in informal discussions through three different panels. The panelists, who are highly regarded in various areas of the game, including all abilities league, mental health, coaching, and community engagement, will share their insights and experiences. Dr. Dinesh Palipana, a member of the International Rugby League Committee, will also be present at the event. The League Community, Inclusion & Connection Lunch welcomes the entire public, including individuals with disabilities and difficulties. The ticket price includes a two-course lunch and a three-hour drinks package. NDIS participants are advised to check their coverage under their NDIS package. The event will be hosted by Sam Coward, who has both played league and worked within the disability sector. Special guests include Shane Morris, Renee Cohen, a Titans NRLW player, Dr. Dinesh Palipana, Kerrod Walters, and Darius Boyd. A guest auctioneer, Liam Anlezark, will offer signed jerseys, and Ziah Harvey Photography will provide entertainment. Attendees are required to show photo ID and arrive by 11:30 am for security purposes. This is an opportunity for individuals, clubs, and organizations to connect with members of SEQ's rugby league NRL teams and raise awareness about inclusion in the league.
