The Death LOOP 2024 is an exciting and challenging event taking place in De Leon Springs. This self-supported ride will take participants on a deep exploration of Ghost towns, wagon trails, forgotten roads, and singletrack. It is essential for riders to be prepared for any situation that may arise during the ride. To ensure everyone is well-equipped, a RWGPS file and a mandatory items list will be provided via email to all registered participants. While efforts will be made to stay together as a group, riders should be capable of maintaining a 13 mph pace on both pavement and dirt roads, as well as an 8 mph pace on rugged trails. The estimated distance for the ride is 61 miles, but self-navigation is possible for those who may not be able to keep up with the main group. With an average speed of 10 mph, this ride is limited to the first 35 registered riders. The event will commence at the Myacca Parking Lot in Lake Woodruff, with a thrilling start on a section of singletrack. Gravel bikes are not recommended unless riders feel confident in their ability to tackle rugged singletrack and sand. A well-deserved stop near the finish line at Saint John's River Grille will provide an opportunity to refuel and rejuvenate.
