Barbara A. Jones is the Founder and Executive Director of The Harlem Swing Dance Society, the premiere Harlem non profit organization with the purpose of promoting, preserving and protecting the Lindy Hop dance and various forms of Swing Dance culture in its Harlem birthplace. The mission is to see the Harlem area once again embrace their signature cultural dance and energize community youth to be future innovators of this historic art form. While the Savoy Ballroom closed in 1958, a new Lindy Hop foundation was born with Mama Lu Parks and her dance troupes. Under her direction Harlem youth made history and brought future attention to Lindy Hop by lessons, performances and dance contests. For close to 30 years they traveled and hopped the globe as one of the longest running jazz dance groups. This  hidden  history will be brought back to life with film, artifacts and experiences from her dancers. For more than 10 years, The Dance Historian Is In at the Library for the Performing Arts has highlighted a diverse range of dancers and choreographers across history. This series began when archivist and historian David Vaughan started volunteering at the Jerome Robbins Dance Division. Vaughan began a monthly program showing his favorite dance films from the Division's extensive collection, through which he unearthed many treasures, and helped acquire even more. Vaughan continued the series until the end of his life. Today, we honor his memory and work by inviting dance historians from all over the world each month to carry on the tradition of highlighting dance history through the Dance Division's moving image collection. SEATING POLICY | Programs are free and open to all, but registration is requested. Check-in line forms 45 minutes before the advertised start time. Registered guests are given priority check-in 15 to 30 minutes before start time. Five minutes before the advertised start time, all seats are released, regardless of registration, to our patrons in the stand-by line. If you arrive after the program starts, you will be seated at the discretion of our front-of-house staff. STANDBY LINE | If registration is sold out or has ended, do not fret! We welcome you to come to the Library regardless of registration status and wait in our standby line, which forms 45 minutes before the advertised start time. Five minutes before the program starts, all remaining seats are released. While this is not guaranteed, we will do our best to get you into any of our programs. BRUNO WALTER POLICY | Please note that any unoccupied seat will be released five minutes before the show begins and holding seats for anyone beyond that is prohibited. There is no food or drink allowed inside the venue. The Metropolitan Museum is a world-class art museum in New York City, USA. I have some brief feelings after visiting: 1. Extensive collections: The Metropolitan Museum has a wide range of collections, including artworks from Europe and the Americas, artworks from Africa and Asia, ancient artworks and more. These collections show the development of human art and culture. 2. Fine art: The artworks in the museum, whether they are paintings, sculptures or crafts, have made me feel the talents and innovation of the artists. 3. Interactive: There are many interactive exhibitions in the museum, which can better understand and appreciate the artwork. 4. Educational: The explanations and guided tours in the museum are very detailed, and for me, this is a good opportunity to learn and understand art. 5. Spacious and comfortable: the museum has a reasonable space layout and makes people feel very comfortable. It doesn&rsquo;t feel crowded even with a lot of people. Overall, visiting the Metropolitan Museum was a very pleasant experience and I highly recommend everyone to have the opportunity to visit.

The first day of the New Year is a tourist, but compared to the domestic people, the queue time is reasonable. . . The roof is too windy, the 80th floor is indoor, the photo has reflection, you can go up to the 86th floor to take pictures outside, overlooking the whole of New York.
