Taking place on the 9th and 10th of March 2024 at the renowned Newcastle Printmakers Workshop in Adamstown, this workshop invites attendees to delve into the world of collagraphy and explore the array of techniques it offers.

Designed with beginners in mind, this intimate workshop promises to unveil the secrets of collagraphy, a cost-effective printmaking method that yields captivating and often unpredictable results. Under the guidance of Valé Vincent, participants will have the opportunity to create a diverse range of collagraph plates using mat board. The workshop will focus on techniques such as incising and peeling away layers of the plate, as well as applying textures, paint mediums, and glue to the plate surface. Attendees will be encouraged to experiment and develop their skills, exploring variations and combinations within this versatile technique, including al la poupée, chiné colle, and multi-colour prints.

To ensure a seamless experience, all course notes and materials, including inks and printmaking paper, will be provided to participants. Participants are required to sign in, wash or sanitise their hands upon entering the workshop, and maintain physical distancing throughout the duration of the class.
