The Thames Valley Chinese New Year 2024 Qi Gong, Tai Chi & Kung Fu Gathering is an event that brings together a vibrant community of schools specializing in these traditional Chinese martial arts practices. This year, the celebration will take place on February 10th at the Cowley Road Methodist Church in Oxford. The event offers 15 taster sessions for attendees to experience the various styles and techniques of Qi Gong, Tai Chi, and Kung Fu.

Participants will have the opportunity to meet the dedicated teachers and practitioners from each club and learn about the ancient mind-body and self-defense traditions. The taster sessions are divided into two rooms: the Yin Room, which focuses on soft, slow, and meditative practices, and the Yang Room, which offers fast, strong, and vibrant sessions.

The event also includes a special kung fu session in the morning for families and kids aged 6-15 years old. Parents or guardians are welcome to attend as well. Attendees can choose to attend one, two, three, four, or more sessions throughout the day, with the option to mix and match between the Yin and Yang rooms.

Tickets for the event are available at varying prices, depending on the number of sessions selected. It is important to state the preferred sessions when booking to secure a place, as capacity is limited. Please note that tickets are non-refundable.

The Bodori Library of Oxford University is the general library of Oxford University. It is one of the oldest libraries in Europe (opened in 1602) and the second largest library in the UK after the British Library. It is one of the six statutory libraries in the UK.
